Publisher's summary

A'tam is the worst.

Sure, he's the prettiest man on the beach, but he's a terrible listener. I've told him a dozen times that we're not compatible - in so many ways - and he refuses to take no for an answer. He had his chance with me, and he blew it.

But A'tam thinks we should be mates. He thinks he can just woo me enough to change my mind. He thinks that sultry kisses and soft touches are the way to a girl's heart. He thinks that if he shows me that he can be everything I need, I'll just fall right back into his arms and forget the past.

And...sigh.

He might be right.

Because I want him again and I really, really shouldn't.

Contains mature themes.

Bridget is not as bad as I thought . . .

Cause I definitely have been judging from all the previous books. Well sort of. But finally getting her story has definitely helped. Having a light shined directly on her AND A'tam's issues (because he is no saint and I was incredibly pissed at how selfish he's been) has helped.

Trigger Warning

This story is FABULOUS as all of Ruby's stories are! i just want to give one warning. ig you are in a relationship and your partner has communication issues... this book is gonna cause some fights! I NEVER thought I'd identify with BRIDGETTE of all people but HOLY SHIT did her and Attam have me FIGHTING WITH MY HUSBAND because he does the SAME SHIT! SO YEAH, if you have communication issues be prepared... otherwise this was another Jewel in the crown that is Icehome! love you Ruby!

Great addition to the series

I've been waiting for this book to hit Audible since the last one. I have skipped over a few of the early books (with no impact to following along), but have been hooked on all the new clans stories and this one did not disappoint. It was wonderful of Ruby Dixon to pull in the importance of communication and how couples therapy can help. Really enjoyable story with great narration as usual.

Bridget's Bane

I really enjoyed this book about a woman who grows up with terrible mother and hides her feelings from those around her even when she doesn't need to. This story was great and the narrator did a great job of expressing Bridget's fears and frustration. I did not really care for Bridget's in the earlier books in this series, but getting to know her I was able to understand her attitude better. I recommend that you read or listen to this book. You will love it too.

Excellent narration, wonderful story. Wow!

Absolutely loved it. Even though the book was out long before, I waited for audio. Totally worth it!

Whiny Bridget

I do not like Bridget’s character, poor E’tam had to wind up with the whiny brat; she is a piece of work. Not his fault that she is a whimp and won’t speak up for what she wants from him; yet can tell others. E’tam is so willing to do what she wants; moral of the story, communication is key.

Bridget and A’tam.

Not my favorite of the series, I really didn’t like Bridget that well. Yes, I liked the book and yes, she had problems that were real. To me the buildup annoyed me, and I almost wanted to skip this book. Luckily Ruby Dixon can make anything good. I do look forward to the next one though. I recommend listening in order starting with the Ice Planet Barbarian series. Got the series with my Kindle Unlimited and was able to purchase this for the Whispersync price. Narrators are great, I do tend to use speed 1.25x, just because I have so many books to read and it doesn’t ruin the narration.

Too much time on the therapy couch

“I have doubts. Enormous ones. Goliath ones.”
Oh, the lost potential for comedy about too large Johnsons. This starts off fun and frisky as Bridget takes A’tam for a spin, but then stalls with Bridget’s endless inner angst about sex pain because he was too big, followed by Bridget and then both of them going to therapy, complete with a talking stick. It’s a suuuuper slow burn, even after Bridget realizes that his size isn’t the problem.

“Pottery, pottery, pottery!”
Well, when he’s trying to last, it's not “grandma on a rainy day”, but by the time they figure things out,
I was starved for campy good times and looked for what little humor there was. I thought this couple’s story would be one of my favorites, but it ended up merely okay.
