About this listen

The final novel of the Kilo-Five Trilogy by number-one New York Times best-selling author Karen Traviss - part of the expanded universe based on the award-winning video game series Halo!

It's 2553. With the 30-year-long Covenant War finally over, the Office of Naval Intelligence faces old grievances rising again to threaten Earth. Angry and bitter colonists - still wanting to settle scores from an insurrection put on hold for three decades - crave justice...as does a man whose life was torn apart by ONI when his young daughter was abducted for the SPARTAN-II program. Black-ops squad Kilo-Five now find its collective loyalty tested beyond the breaking point when the father of their Spartan comrade, still searching for the truth about her disappearance, prepares to glass Earth’s cities to get an answer.

How far will Kilo-Five go to stop him? And will he be able to live with the truth when he finds it?

The painful answer lies with someone long dead and a conscience that still survives in the most unlikely, undiscovered place....

I love this trilogy. Plain and simple. The characters and the moral greys of the Halo universe are the true conductors of the action. And it's amazing.
Loved it to pieces, loved every minute. read all three books one after the other.
Do yourself a favor, read them too. They are good. Very, very good.

And this one is the best of the three.

An awesome end for one hell of a story

it's too bad 343 doesn't put more effort in. this trilogy was really good. a tad 🧀 at times, yet very serious and grounded.

great trilogy

The plot quality, use of existing cannon and lore, extensive word variety, and character arks in the Kilo Five trilogy are why Karen Traviss is by far the best Halo series author. Euan Morton's narration was simply excellent. The only regret should be that there's only three books and not more.

Unparalleled

After going thru the Kilo-5 trilogy, I found that this installation was the best of the 3. The way Karen Traviss tells the story of the post human covenant war, and the effects of the spartan 2 program was mesmerizing. Would definitely listen to again.

Peak halo lore

By far the best string of Halo books. To get a better understanding of Glasslands, read/listen to Ghost of Onyx, but these 4 Books have kept me on my toes the entire time listening, with laughs, moral dilemmas, shocks, cries, you name it. as I make my way through all 29 Halo Books these being the halfway point, I'm going to find it hard for any of them to top these. the Narrator's are fantastic as well.
