Publisher's summary

No one likes a rebellious captive. I learned that the hard way. I'd been abducted from Earth and cruelly tormented for my fighting spirit until I learned the only thing that would keep me safe is to be sweet and calm and agreeable. It's what keeps me alive.

When I'm rescued by space pirates, they tell me I'm safe. I'm told I can be myself again, get as angry as I want, laugh and cry and scream all I need. I don't believe them, of course. I certainly don't believe Alyvos, the "muscle" of the pirate ship. Everyone says he likes nothing more than a good fight, but to me, he's kind and protective. How can I fear someone who holds me tenderly through the night and has fuzzy skin?

But my pirate wants more from me than I'm ready to give. He wants my fiery spirit...and I'm not sure it's there anymore.

Contains mature themes.

Corsair

I really like the audio for this series. The narrators do a great job bringing the plot to life. This particular book has many descriptions of tortures that happened to woman to include the loss of vision from the main female character so it has moments where you feel so much for her. The big blue tough guy has some moments where you want to tell him he is being ridiculous but it goes well.

Ruby Does Horror!

The beginning of this book has some legit horror. It's terrifying.

Another well done book from Ruby but this one focuses a bit more on PTSD and recovering from horror. It's now a favorite. Of course there's HEA and it's earned.

My favourite in the series.

This is the third and my favourite book in the Corsairs series of 4. It’s a stand-alone, but includes characters from all four books.

The introduction to the story is excellent, the build-up of the relationship is well paced, the story-line is satisfying, and I felt I got to know the characters well. My only criticism (sorry to nag again), is that I would have liked an extra chapter showing us more of the building of the sexual tension, rather than the story skipping to a “few weeks later.” But that’s just me. I like to read the build-up and I know Ruby Dixon has the ability to do it really well. More build-up and less description of sexy times would have made this a 5 star story for me, even with a small word count (188 pages/4hrs 17mins audio).

Overall, though, I recommend this story, and I've happily listened twice to the whole series as the stories move seamlessly from one book to the other. It's great to have them available now all at once so you can experience them without waiting.

I bought the entire 4 book series in one go during an Audible sale. This couple appears in the subsequent instalment as secondary characters and so you can track their happy ever after for a little longer.

As usual, narrators Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

surprisingly real.

I most admit that I stay away from this series specially this book because many times the characters are so far from their circumstances.
But Ruby did soo good with this books and Iris behavior . Refreshing to see an author do research of what are writing.

Excellent Series

I love Ruby Dixon's writing style. Hopefully she will continue with this series. Her Icehome and Fireblood Dragon series are both awesome! Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd are great narrators for this series.

Unexpectedly Delightful

I was caught off guard in the beginning by the heroines situation (the cover photo was not a dead give away) but it turned into something truly delightful to listen to when you think of all the love the hero throws down for her. He’s not your traditional knight in armor and it makes it delish.

Recommend you close your eyes as you listen and put yourself in her shoes to make it an added bonus.

Another short and not so sweet story

The narration was good. I love when there are 2 member storytellers.
Alivos gets to discover his mate. She is obedient and blind, but he knows that if he can get her angry she will lose the obedience that was beaten into her.

Sweet alien romance

Big blue ex-soldier Corsair with anger issues falls fast for a human saved from torture by other aliens. Although the story has a gruesome starting point, it is more of a gentle unfolding of a romance. Both mc’s have had to learn to overcome challenges. It’s more on the light side than an in-depth emotion twister of a story. Sweet, generous, overly caring Corsair gently woos the lovely broken human. All hearts and flowers with a soft gooey lovey center.

More of The Lovesick Fool's adventures!

Although the story leading up to this adventure was a little brutal, this story was no less captivating. I enjoyed Iris and Alyvos' story. Their path to trusting each other and the eventual HEA. Because ALL Ruby Dixon books end in a HEA or HFN. Which suits my fancy 😁
