Publisher's summary

Since her only daughter left for college, widow Pamela Paterson has kept busy as associate editor of a craft magazine and founder of the Knit and Nibble knitting club in quaint Arborville, New Jersey. Now, she's trying out a new hobby - solving murders!

Pamela is hosting the next Knit and Nibble meeting and can't wait to liven up her otherwise empty home with colorful yarn, baking, and a little harmless gossip. She even recruits Amy Morgan, an old friend who recently moved to town, as the group's newest member. But on the night of the gathering, Amy doesn't show. Not until Pamela finds the woman dead outside - a knitting needle stabbed through the front of her handmade sweater....

Someone committed murder before taking off with Amy's knitting bag, and Pamela realizes that only she can spot the deadly details hidden in mysterious skeins. But when another murder occurs, naming the culprit - and living to spin the tale - will be more difficult than Pamela ever imagined....

Nice start to a new series

Peggy Earhart has written a nice book to start off a new series. I couldn’t help thinking at times that the main character was a busybody, as she did seem to butt into other people’s business. By the middle of the book the main character grew onto me and I started to like her. The narrator took a while to like but I’m the end I did. Not the best cozy novel I’ve read, but I look forward to the next in the series.

The sound is wrong

Only 3 chapters in. I exclusively listen to books while driving and I can’t with this one. The audio is so off. I have the volume almost all of the way up and sometimes the voices are so low I can’t hear them over the general highway driving noises. I can’t turn it louder or the loud parts will be too loud.

Fun listen

Originally looking for something else but stumbled upon this series. It’s a cozy tale involving a surprising amount of people dying considering my knitting club hasn’t solved any mysteries other than “you dropped a stitch here”. Fun to listen to while working.

Well written but the small issues.

The author 's over use of the main character's names instead of a simple "she" got on my nerves. I mean in the same paragraph the name Pamela was said several times. And the voice actor that did Pamela and Bettina sounded too old for the characters. Being that Pamela had a daughter in college I assumed she was early to mid 40s. The voices sounded in their 60s. And the inflection she used sometimes confused me as to what she meant. Other than that, good little story, UT I won't continue the series.

Good mystery

This was a good light mystery that kept me engrossed until the end. I listen to books while I am walking and this one really helped me to pass the time and forget how far I had gone.

Very enjoyable cozy mystery

I really enjoyed this cozy mystery. I am a knitter so that is what first attracted me to this audiobook but it very quickly caught me up in the story. Highly recommended.

Awesome book!

This is probably the best cozy mystery I've heard in a long time. I'm getting the next book in a moment.

meh

Callie Beaulieu is a good narrator but she couldn't bring this story to life. The lead character, Pamela, is annoying and flat. I couldn't warm up to her. But overall, the story was ok.
