FOR THE LOVE OF BLUEBERRIES WHAT A SERIES!!

This was my favorite series ever!!!! I have never listened to a five series book back to back. The story line had great twists and turns. Some great and some heartbreaking, but you actually LIVED with it through the characters instead of just listening to a book. I still think about this series and their world. It is very rare this day and age to get as immersed into a book and actually "feel" their world. My only problem was when Kris Koscheski played Blake. Kris Koscheski is one of my favorite narrators, but not in this series. Erin Moon had all the characters to perfection.! I heartily recommend this book to anyone!!

I laughed, cried, my soul hurt & healed reading.

I listened to all 5 books in 2 weeks. I couldn't stop. I cried, laughed, enjoyed shopping trips, dragon flights and fights. Mrs. Wood writes life not stories. she lets us see her characters as people we could be best friends with or hate. I have never loved a series more than Tamora Pierce's books...I found a new author to enjoy for years to come.

Amazing

This book was 21 hours long and I only wish that it could have gone on and not stopped. What an awesome and heartbreaking (in the best way) series. My only complaint is that there are no more on audible yet. Please get the rest of them on here asap!!

Overall a beautiful story with a frustrating lead character

I loved this last book of the series just because of Blake and other character and the sequence of events and how the dent bond is explained at the end.
The previous books were mostly was very annoying due to the lead character’ s immature and selfish nature.

Wish she would have grown up

Love the story and the narrator, but damn I really wish the author would have made the main a little more grown up she’s almost what 19? And she still throws a fit like a 14 year old her inner monologue is hair pulling annoying half the time. To the point I am constantly saying shut the *** up and just listen to everyone around you for once.

The main character is such a teenage drama queen

I have mixed reviews about the main character. I continued to read each and every book hoping to see her grow up and mature into something spectacular. But it didn't happen.

I grunted.

Love the story and hate to see it end. that said, warning - avoid drinking games involving doing a shot every time Elena grunts in this book. I need a ride home from Pittsburgh. Anyone?

Big spoiler right here

Honest to god, I enjoyed most of the books in this series, and I loved a good portion of this book.... there are bits and pieces that make me absolutely fucking hate it but that comes with the fact that this book was largely just the ramblings of an author.

*Spoiler*

while a good portion of the book is readable, there is a section in the middle (somewhere, I had to take a few months to write this just because of the fact that it was kind of jarring and I wanted to write with a level head, so I can’t remember which part) where our dunce of a hero ends up behind the bramble patch or whatever it is where the old kingdom was. (Yes I do apologize but our heroine is a complete blithering idiot, everyone else in the story had to make up for it and Blake only kind of does, everyone else not so much either) right towards the end of when she leaves, there is something that happens that jarred me to the bone. I haven’t had issues with books before, but when there is a RAPE scene, I have a FUCKING problem. This book did not come with a trigger warning, this book did not come with a “You really shouldn’t read this unless your older than 18” thing, this book completely went from being pleasant and readable, to something I literally couldn’t stand to listen to any more. I finished the book, but lord was it a fucking trudge through the mud to do so. If you read this book, you do need a trigger warning, the main character gets raped. It’s not super graphic (that I remember) but it’s definitely a problem. I wanted to enjoy the book but that scene ruined the whole thing for me. I know other people have enjoyed this book, oddly enough I don’t see anyone else mentioning this scene so if it’s just a problem
I had with it, that’s fine, but otherwise, holy fuck people say something about it.

Great story, but I still need closure

I really liked this series, in spite of Elena's constant whining. I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes a a protagonist that much. But I feel like I still have questions and I didn't get enough closure.

***spoilers***
It's frustrating that half of the deaths happen "off screen." She's just told that all of these people die and that's it. I mean, we didn't even get to see the villain die, we're just told that he's dead.
And who the heck are Connor and Marricka (not sure how to spell it)? Did they really warn the king about who would betray him? Did we find out and I somehow missed it? Why couldn't her mother talk to her in her dreams, but Lucian could (I really kept waiting for that to be explained)? What happened with the wyverns? I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have fought even after their "king" was dead. How did Paul and Nora get past the creepers when Gorrin couldn't? Who actually cast the creepers? Elena speculates that it was her mother, but that theory is never confirmed. Like I said, great story, but I still have too many unanswered questions.
