Publisher's summary

Raised on fame and fortune, Liam McGuire is a spoiled man-child. His handsome face blinds the world, but I see through it to what he is inside. Ugly. When his tour bus rolls off the road, Liam's rushed to the hospital where I work. A jagged scar runs the length of his face, ruining his good looks and jeopardizing his career. As his nurse, I'm around him more than I'd like, but the more I get to know him, the more I realize the world wasn't blind to him. I was. Liam McGuire feels deeply and loves wildly, throwing himself into everything he does with more passion than I ever dreamed possible. With that intensity aimed at me, the scars slashed across my own heart start to heal. He is fire and I've been cold my whole life. Am I ready to thaw? Or is life better - safer- when I'm cold and numb?

Contains mature themes.

Heart wrenchingly good!!

I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this audiobook. I've never read a book by this author, but decided to give it a listen. I was so surprised by the depth of emotion this author dragged out of these people. This is a story of love found, love lost and life going on. About forgiving yourself and being true to who you really are. I will be looking for more books by this author right away. Narration was superb as well.

Great story about 2 wounded souls

This was a great story about two very different people who have been wounded by life. Bailey is working so hard to make up for things she feels responsible for. She lost her parents when she was really young as well as her boyfriend. Then she becomes responsible for her younger brother and she constantly feels like she is failing him.

Liam is a famous rock star who is badly hurt in a bus accident. He wants to heal in this small Ohio town but his agent is relentless when it comes to trying to get him back to LA to recover and have surgery to fix the scar on his face. While Liam is in Ohio, he learns a lot about himself and the life that he truly wants to lead.

Bailey is his nurse and he is shocked that she doesn't fall head over heels for him like most girls do. She isn't impressed by his fame. This is a welcome surprise for Liam and this starts them on their road to a HEA.

The narration was great. Joe is an absolute favorite of mine.

Wounded

Good bones. Lacking structure. Narrative strong. Storytelling too indecisive. Lead characters were childish . I’m glad it was free.

Great book, better storyline

Would you listen to Wounded again? Why?

Yes, this book kept me engaged and waiting to know what is coming.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bailey is my favorite character. Without giving any spoilers, she has overcome a lot of challenges and still keeps moving forward.

What does Joe Arden and Stephanie Rose bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They bring life to the story. I am not an imaginative person. Hearing someone else read it brings the book to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was at time heartbroken, then at times happy and as the characters move throughout life you really can identify with the characters.

4 stars

This was my first Abby Brooks books and I especially love celebrity meets their Cinderella story line. I was really hoping this book would have the depth like some Corrine Michaels books or some of my other favorite writers. unfortunately, there were so many times I kept thinking that this author could have done more with the scene and dialog. If you're a romance book lover that likes a little more steam with great character and story depth, you might be a bit diappointed in this fairly vanilla story. Honestly, this is not uncommon for some average romantic writers. the great writers and story tellers know how to make stories that grip their audience That's why they are great and this is slightly better than average. Yet, I enjoyed the storyline enough and the narrators were better than average therefore, I will more than likely finish the series and get the next audio.

Loved and hated it!

Loved this story (almost)! Be careful if listening while driving, there should of been a warning against it. Very emotional! Wish things with Michael would of turned out different, If him and Lexi could of been together at the end I would of loved the story even more.

Heart wrenching story

Such a great story. You want to hate Liam but you can’t. He had this wall he built around him. Joe Arden was wonderful and I enjoyed Stephanie Rose narrating

Loved It

I absolutely loved the story of Liam and Bailey! Although sad the way Liam had to be injured to realize he wanted to be more than just eye candy for his fans, it was the shake up he apparently needed.
Bailey’s strength and the fact that she wasn’t going to treat him like she was one of his groupies made it that much more of a fun read. I love when a story has that tension that builds until the rubber band finally snaps!
