Leah is a stunningly brave woman. Her story is tremendous. It is sorrowful when it ends! Her journey is uplifting; and her orthodox husband was a kind man, unlike what I have read about many such men. You will not regret this read.

A must read for anyone interested in orthodoxy

Since I was a little girl in a yeshiva kindergarten, I have been fascinated with chasidim. This book was an answer to many of my feelings. I loved the wonderful narration.

I truly enjoyed the thoughts and information given in this book. The reader was great. As a previous person wrote, the book needed some editing. However, I listened to the entire thing and enjoyed the expansion of my horizons on this topic.

Thoughtful look into Orthodox Judaism

It was overly long and repetitious.
Compared to other books that I have read about disengaging with the orthodox world, this one fell flat.

It’s a journey, one I think most people will find relatable in some way! You will have received a lot of knowledge into the secret society of Hasidism, along with one brave woman experience.

Shockingly good and high-paced. Memoir readers love themes that shine light on new-to-them communities. This book is a lament that kept me worrying throughout the book. Some stories just make your chest hurt. A great cover and title for marketing, by the way
