After being wounded in action, NSA agent Nathan Ortiz comes home to Miami, eager to return to duty. But he doesn't expect his newest mission to lead him straight to the one woman he loved, lost, and has never gotten over.
A beautiful, successful restaurateur, Amelia Rios enjoys giving back to her community, especially to struggling women. Then a woman she recently hired stops showing up for work, and, unfortunately, she isn't the first to go missing.
Soon Amelia finds herself thrust into a shadowy, dark world, working side by side with Nathan, the only man she's ever loved. They must confront old feelings as they battle a ruthless enemy preying on the poor and weak. The heat simmering between Nathan and Amelia could mean a second chance for them-but first they have to survive.
Contains mature themes.

Where does A Covert Affair rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I absolutely loved this book and the audible was simply fantastic.Who was your favorite character and why?
That is a hard one to chose just one. But I will say Nathan because he is a this tough as nails Alpha male who has the biggest heart and soul when it comes to the woman he loves. What about Sophie Eastlake’s performance did you like?
I love Sophie Eastlake's narration she brings each character to life and gives us that oomph we can not get solely by just reading the book. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Nathan sees Amelia across the room at the very beginning.Any additional comments?
I was gifted this audible for my honest reviewHis Forever Love

In this one we have Nathan Ortiz, an undercover NSA agent who recently got injured on the job. He has recovered and is now back in his hometown of Miami to undertake a new mission. A mission that takes him to the girl he loved as a teenager, and has not forgotten even though she hurt him when she left him.
Amelia Rios is now a successful restaurant owner, but she hasn’t forgotten Nathan, nor the secret she kept from him and the reason she left him.
Now she seems to be a key factor in women that are going missing . As the plot thickens, so does the reignited relationship develops. Secrets must be divulged, trust must be earned , traffickers found, and women must be saved. But in the midst of this turmoil , will Nathan and Amelia find each other again and if they do, will they have a future?
Aside from an engaging plot, and complex characters, I commend the author for highlighting the fact that human trafficking exists in a variety of forms. We all need to be aware of this and do what we can to help stop this atrocity. A very sensitive subject matter in which the author did an outstanding job in presenting to the listener.
The narrator , Sophie Eastlake, did an excellent job in this performance.
I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This assignment took him to Amelia, the girl who left him behind 12 years before. I just love second chance love stories, as long as they’re not full of angst. This wasn’t. There was the reason she left that she felt guilty about, and Nathan did feel angry about it when he first found out but he did have to realize she had been only 17 so it really did make some sort of sense. I mean, who really knows what goes on in a 17 year old girl’s head. It’s been over 50 years since I was 17 so I sure don’t remember.
Anyway, this was a good story, even though I hate stories about human trafficking. However, I was surprised at who the bad guy was. I never saw that coming. There were criminals on the NSA’s list of possibilities but that bad guy wasn’t even on the list.
The secondary characters were some of my favorites from the other 4 books in the Deadly Ops: Wesley, Elliot, Karen, Cade, Maria Dax, Hannah, Detective Nieto, etc.
And with all the bad guys there were Sid was the worst of the worst, Dr. Davis was a total creep, too. Iker was a criminal but he was likable.
There was some nice sexual tension in this book and some great and explicit sex, too. There was also swearing, with the F-bomb being dropped 68 times, as it should be in this kind of story.
As to the narrator: Ms. Eastlake is always a favorite because she does nice male voices. I just wish she read with a little more emotion.
Great read and listen..

Great book

This is the last book in the series, and our heroine is strong and resourceful, and is not afraid to stand up and be counted. The subject or rather the storyline is pretty dark and quite inventive for a mystery.
When my comments of help?
Resourceful heroine
