I love love love the Shadow Hunter series. I was so excited when this book came out, and was available on Audible. However, this particular narrator for the book was very dull. A lot monotone, and it was difficult to listen to at times. Other than that, I loved the story. It had all the magic and pull from the other books in the series, and you find yourself getting just as attached to the Blackthorns and Emma as you did with Jace, Clary, Izzy, Simon, Alec, Magnus, Tessa, Jem, and Will. I cannot wait until the next book! Cassandra Clare sure does know how to leave a cliffhanger where you're just reaching for the next book!

If you can read it, you'll enjoy it more. I couldn't put it down. As a sibling, as a mother, the emotions in this book touched my heart.

The audio version: the narrator lacked inflection and sounds like she's tired.

The story was amazing, it was full of forbidden love, the edge of barely held back feelings and, of course, the epicness and edge-of-your-seat action of all Shadowhunter Books. The narrator, however was monotone, did not distinguished between characters, and almost ruined the experience of listening to the book with her droll and bored reading.
