Her name is Bond. Jamie Bond. And her life is about to be shaken and stirred in a cocktail of sex, lies, scandal, and one very dead body. Jamie Bond is a former cover model who switches gears to take over the family business: The Bond Agency, a high-powered P.I. firm located in Los Angeles that specializes in domestic espionage - catching cheating husbands. Jamie's assembled a team of other disenchanted former models to help her take names and kick derrieres among L.A.'s wealthiest philandering husbands. Her current client: Mrs. Veronica Waterston, the young, distraught wife of superior court judge, Thomas Waterston, known for his tough sentencing, right-wing leanings, and his fondness for blondes with double D's. Easy target. But Jamie's simple case takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the not-so-good judge winds up on the ten o'clock news with a bullet through his head.

It's clear that someone has set Jamie up, and suddenly she's on the run, under fire, and in serious jeopardy of losing it all. With a hot A.D.A. on her trail, a killer on the loose, and her life on the line, Jamie must prove once and for all that nobody messes with a Bond.

I must say I was disappointed in this as an audiobook. The story itself was decent but the reader was not what she could have been. The sample did not prepare me for the non-stop breathy "sex kitten" voice she used throughout the whole book. There were times when that voice was appropriate but not for the whole book. A little more than halfway through I switched to my kindle version and I enjoyed the book more that way. Perhaps I would have liked it even more had I never listened to the audio in the first place. Don't waste your credit.

This is a very good book if you are looking for a lighter mystery. No hard violence or sexual scenes. I was looking for something on the lighter side and found it here. It's a very enjoyable book. Bond Jamie Bond.

This is the first book in this P.I. series with women Private Investigators, a cozy mystery type book. The characters are varied and enjoyable. The mystery is very good with some twists and kept me entertained through the whole book. The performance is very good.

Very entertaining P.I. mystery and performance

This is a very well written book but it is does not have a lot of surprises.

The main plot was good with nice pacing, build-up, and a well executed ending. There was just a lack of excitement (for me any way).
The side cases are to straight-foreword for my taste. HOWEVER if you like a more realistic take on how most real life PI cases go down than this IS a very good choice.

The character are on the surface VERY generic but though their interactions with each other become fleshed out, and very well rounded.

My favorite part of this book is Jamie's relationship with her father Derek.
It is a stained relationship the way a real life stained relationship would be. Yet in spite of this Jaime and Derek clearly love each other.

As for the narrator Julia Motyka does a good job at making sure each character has their own voice.

This is a petty enjoyable book and if you like more down to earth story telling this is a good choice.

Less "Who Done It" and More "How Do We Prove It"
