Publisher's summary

Once, Arianna Murray Lucette believed that she'd met the man she could always rely on. She was wrong. Now she is fleeing for her life, and when her enemies attack a ship bound for her only refuge, she believes that all hope is lost - until she awakens on Scotland's shore to a pair of the most entrancing blue eyes she has ever seen. When Sir Brian MacFingal first spots the sun-streaked beauty on the beach, he mistakes her for dead. Soon, however, he discovers a woman who is more full of life and vitality than he ever dreamed possible. But though he knows he is fit to defend her life - even at the risk of losing his own - can such a raw warrior as he ever be worthy of her love? Contains mature themes.

Critic reviews

"This fast-paced addition to the Murray clan chronicles is loaded with action as two people with demons help each other slay them. The strong prose and well-drawn backdrop, along with recurring characters adds just the right touches to more than satisfy Howell's legion of fans." ---RT Book Reviews

Murray Family series

Love the series. Meant for mature readers. I enjoy all the twist and turns in the development of the story. Each one different. Like the narrator, too.

Great series

I know this is the second to last book in this series so far but really hope they are more to come because the Murray, McFingal, Campbell, Drummond, etc families have grown so much that we can add more upon more upon more stories. Really liked this one, but also wanted to pummel the hero for this stupidity and was horrified to think he was willing to make love to Arianna but let her go to a "man worthy of her". Some men are so damn stupid it's ridiculous. Oh well on to book 19.........

Enjoyable

Loved the characters and family. No angst, little drama and humor. Narrator did an excellent job.

Shipwreck to Love

Brian & Arianna
I love any story that involves the MacFingles and this one has the MacFingles, the Cameron's, and the Murray's. Arianna and two step sons are shipwrecked and The MacFingles are to the rescue. Of course there is a lot of adventures. The bad guys are hard to stop and track, but one thing is certain there are a lot of twists and turns with the comedy that only comes from these two families. This story is a perfect addition to this series. I always suggest that you start at the very beginning. It is awesome read! Great narrator.

Rutting Goats, MacFingals

Audible Escape
This had a fast pace great opening. Too bad author decided to keep to her good selling formula instead of following book 10 Sigmore story. Scottish and French, Ms Dawe voices are the Best. I love Ms Dawe voice for the two male children and the opening held such promise on the beach rescue. Oh Weelll. Both our hero and heroine showed such heroism and spunk at the start, then the self doubt program progressed! Sigmore is in this story, but has little of the humor from book 9 and his book 10. Love this introduction to the Murray men in books that follow.
I do use 1.25x speed to match the adventure. Author and publisher summery spot on and author adds a nice twist to this mystery romance.

Loved this book!

I laughed and cried throughout this book. It was a very good read but I love Scottish romance and strong women roles. This book can move you if you feel as I do.

Get the name right!

Is it Arinola? or Aurilia? or many other mispronunciations??? Drove me crazy! Arianna! Usually Angela Dawe doesn't have this problem.

Highland Avenger

This is the 18th book in the Murray family series. Arianna is on the run for her life. With her false husbands two boys she must get to her family in Scotland or die. When the ship she was on is rammed by those who want her dead she has little hope left. But luck is on her side when she is rescued by Sir Brian MacFingal. If you have been reading previous books in the series you don't kneed to know any more. Insert laughing moments with the rest of the family. But with her ex brother in law hot on her trail will they make it to his stronghold/family keep in time to out the killer? And will he, Brian, every figure out that he is the man she needs in her life? Listening to the narration had me enjoying the many MacFingal clan once again.
