Publisher's summary

Dr. Joyce Yards has never met anyone as sexy or as irresistible as 466. He refuses to discuss anything except getting her naked beneath him. Their therapy sessions are growing hotter, his raw hunger for her is becoming aggressive, and she is falling for him. Joy knows the dire consequences if she gives in to desire. It will break her heart but she must walk away.

Moon has been drugged. He is feral and dangerous to everyone. The NSO doctors turn to the only female Moon ever cared about - the one who left him in the desert two years ago.

Moon isn’t the same male Joy once knew but she is willing to put her life on the line for him. There are no rules now. If sex tames the wild beast and triggers his fractured memories, allowing him moments of lucidity, then Joy will give him her body and her soul. She’ll do whatever it takes to save him.

Moon and Joy

Moon was happy to be free but nothing in the outside world appealed to him except for his therapist, Joy. She was a beautiful human female that truly wanted to help him but there was more. She wanted him. Moon wanted nothing more then to take her in his arms and show her all the pleasures he could give her. Unfortunately she disappeared before that could happen leaving Moon empty and bitter.

When Joyce was hired by the US government to work at the reorientation facilities for new species, she never dreamed she would fall for one. As a clinical psychologist, she knew it was morally unethical and illegal to have any sexual feelings towards her patient. Furthermore, the laws stated specifically there could be no physical contact between humans and the newly released Species. Too many raw feeling lay close to the surface from the abuse they had suffered at the hands of the Mercer employees. The only way to protect herself and Moon was to leave; so she did.

An attack Reservation traps Moon in a dark angry place mean where no one can reach him; except Joy. She came running to help the only man, correction, male she'd ever felt so strongly about. Moon was ferel, out of his mind, but it made no difference. Joy would do anything she had to help him; including including die.

Would you ever listen to anything by Laurann Dohner again?

Yes, It's like potatoes chips. Junk but delicious :)

What does Vanessa Chambers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I would prefer to read the book but, I dont have time. The good thing about Vanessa is that she makes the story entrataining by the way she brings each character to life.

Great story and enjoyable in audible.

My only gripe is Joy comes across as disrespectful in continuing to think of and call Moon as 466 for much of the story.
Sometimes the other character voices the narrator does sound wrong to me. I always find they don’t sound like I expect.
BOOK REVIEW
My review is no longer a verified one as I have the older published version of this book.
Moon has been a long time New Species I wanted to find a mate. His story is great reading.
New Species are released from Mercile's imprisonment and are assigned therapists to talk too. As his therapist Joyce/Joy cannot get involved with 466 (Moon) no matter the attraction that is between them. She leaves without saying goodbye and it breaks her heart.
Two years later and Moon has been drugged with something new that has sent him feral. He has become a danger to everyone and the NSO has called Joy in to see if she can help by reaching him.
Moon was obviously still attracted to Joy even after two years as she was able to get through to him. Moon and Joys chemistry hits you from the start and I did enjoy some of the unorthodox ways Joy gained Moons attention.
When Moon erroneously believes Joy has left him again and he sneaks out to chase her down and things get very entangled. I won't say what happens but very interesting.
I have owned and read this series from the beginning and re-read it often. It never ceases to be enjoyable reading. I used to have a favourite but they are all superb in their own way.

Still Love The Series- This Book...Not So Much

Would you listen to Moon again? Why?

No, Moon and Joy just didn't have any real time to connect in my opinion. I got more insight into the relationship with his best friend Harley.

Would you recommend Moon to your friends? Why or why not?

I'd probably suggest they start with another title in the series. Fury, Valiant, Justice, Tiger one of the stronger titles before they get into this one...

What does Vanessa Chambers bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I just love the way she gives the characters their own personalities- if it's a recurring character, you know who it is before the name's even said. I also love the emotion she brings in when she's reading, if someone's laughing you hear that! She really makes it entertaining.

Moon - the Hot Joyful Prankster turned Feral !!

Any additional comments?

I have read all the books from this series and this is the first one the main characters have had sort of a relation/interaction before the main story begun. Moon is about Dr. Joyce Yards a therapist that was on a highly confidential mission to help the new species when they are just rescued. She is assigned to the very irresistible 466. 466 also later called Moon is a sexy canine/human who makes it hard for the doctor to keep their relationship professional. Their therapy sessions are growing hotter and hotter with each session till it breaks her up and Joy decides to leave before they can see where their relation can lead.

There is where the real story begins. Joy gets a phone call that Moon has been drugged, by an unknown drugs. his memory shattered. Now he’s feral and a dangerous threat to everyone. They ask Joy to help and of course she can’t resist..... Joy has always regretted leaving her old job as she had fallen so hard for Moon, she would of lost everything back then if she had acted on her feelings so had to leave.... There are no rules now. She is not his therapist anymore. Sex seems to tame the wild beast in Moon and triggers old memories to help him find his old self. The only thing she can do is help him and she is willing to try anything. Anything!

This is another fabulous Hot, Sexy and emotional installment to the New Species series. I enjoyed this book as much as the rest and felt so so sorry for Moon as he was always the happy go lucky and more settled of the New Species. I hope Laurann keeps these books coming, I'm ready for the next book NOW lol. :)

Redeemed

The last 2 books in the series were just a bit lacking in my opinion. This one was back on track. I enjoyed a plot with out a kidnapping. Don't get me wrong, the kidnappings in previous books have been relevant to their no so distant history, therefor needed. They have been inventive. I can't wait to see what happens next.
