Rebecca's Lost Journals - The four novellas combined into one volume…

Rebecca Mason has known heartache and sorrow in her life, losing everyone she loves. She's on her own in San Francisco, lost in every way, until she dares to make the decision to chase her dream of working in the art world. It is then that she meets a rich, seductively powerful man who will become the Master she never knew she wanted and change her life forever. He will lead her on a dark, passionate journey where pain is pleasure and pleasure is pain, and where every limit she once had is no more. In this man, she will find solace to her pain, an escape from the ache inside her. And in him, she will discover a darkness she may never escape.

Already missing Rebecca

The journals seduced me, but now I'm a complete mess.

Feeling sorry for Rebecca, not knowing what to expect.

(Need to read all the books to make sense...)

Not liking Crystal right now even as a strong woman she is, it's too soon to move on!

I need to read more and figure out the mystery as things unfold.

Yeah I know I'll keep reading!

Confused but enjoying the reading, understanding where the author is leading, hoping to find the right piece of the puzzle!

Going for a hunt, need to get the other books!

I want more Mark Compton

Where does Rebecca's Lost Journals rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I dont know, i've listened so many

What other book might you compare Rebecca's Lost Journals to and why?

I think this is the first journal i've read before... I loved it because I knew about what had happened to Rebecca, but her past was a mystery. this solves a little about it... not all, but it gives something...

Which scene was your favorite?

when Mark is asking her for more. if she would accepted, she would have never gone and she'd be alive... but then Sara would never gone to work at the gallery and never met Chris, so that would make me sad too

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Inside OUT!

Any additional comments?

Book and Audiobook review: 5+ stars

Includes Rebecca’s Lost Journals #1-4 (The Seduction, The Contract, His Submissive, My Master) and The Master Undone

Lisa Renee Jones is amazing! She’s making this series better and better with every novel and novella she adds to it. Rebecca’s Lost Journals was a needed addition to solve the mystery of her disappearance and her relationship with Mark. To be honest, I was expecting to find so many similarities between her and Sara, but they were so different. Rebecca was determined, straightforward and strong, and she never thought she needed to submit to another man to be complete, but she did. And despite her hesitation about the rules Mark was offering in his contract, she gave in and accepted all his rules, even the ones she didn't like. Sadly, we all know she doesn’t have a happy ending, and this book made it more difficult to accept, because she and Mark were perfect for each other, and he loved her as much as she loved him, but he accepted it too late.

The last part of the audiobook was The Master Undone, it’s the continuation of His Secrets but from Mark’s POV. He’s suffering from losing Rebecca, and he has family problems. His life isn’t in the best moment. I was aching with him, I wanted to hug him and comfort him and tell him everything will be alright, but it won’t… Or at least I don’t think it will. In his travel to NY he met Crystal, his mom’s assistant. He was very surprised about his attraction toward her because she’s the opposite of anything he ever wanted, but he finds an escape in/with her that’ll help him find some balance in the mess of a life he’s living right now.

The performance of Grace Grant and Sebastian York were beyond perfect. Grace knows how to reinvent her voice with every new audiobook I listen narrated by her. She’s in the first audiobooks of the series, doing an amazing job with Sara’s voice, and despite it being a same person, the narration was completely different for Rebecca. Sebastian was perfect. He is perfect. His voice fits perfectly for Mark’s personality: Dominant, arrogant and all bossy. I liked how he did Crystal’s voice, it gave me a different impression than the one I had the first time I listened In Between last year.

Intriguing

I'm so glad that I read this before moving on to "a Revealing Us" to learn more about Rebecca and Mark. I had already read " If I Were You" and " Being Me ". Can't wait to read more.

Good But......

This was good, I would have preferred this one to be first and leave the ending out or change it.

it would be great intro to the series.

I was reluctant to order this, but . . .

Any additional comments?

I'm glad I did. I read the books of the Inside Out series first, but didn't think I'd get into the journal entries. I'm not a fan of BDSM normally, but it's okay to read on occasion. The journal entries have enough sex to be hot, but are really more of what a private journal usually is -- insight into the writer's innermost thoughts and feelings.

As for the last part that is the master's story, I really feel it humanizes Mark in a way the full-size books in this series haven't (maybe couldn't). I'm so glad it was included and I loved the narrator's voice.

In my opinion, this collection is not stand-alone. You really need the context of the whole series for all of this to make sense. Since I'd recommend the whole series, that's not a drawback for me. This series was my first experience with this author and I find that her books are the kind you want to finish in one sitting.

Rebecca's Journey - essential reading!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

These journals are integral reading with the Inside Out Trilogy. Journals 1 - 4 give the background to Rebecca's life and a greater understanding of what was going on in her life at the time she wrote the journals. Journal 5 is written from the Master point of view and for me to review that journal would spoil it for all listeners. I read Rebecca's Lost Journals on my kindle before I listened to 'If I Were You' and 'Being Me'. I would recommend listening to Journal 5 after 'Being Me'.

What other book might you compare Rebecca's Lost Journals to and why?

Rebecca's Lost Journals are the story of Rebecca's journey into the life of a Master and submissive. They share her thoughts, her triumphs and her regrets. I don't know what books I would compare them to - they were a much more in depth read than Fifty Shades.

Which scene was your favorite?

I wouldn't call it a favourite scene but for me it was the most telling. It was when Rebecca finally decided not to sign another contract. Rebecca knew that while she loved her Master deeply he was unable to give the same back to her. It was only ever going to be a contract - never a relationship.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not every book series should be made into a film and I think this is one of them.

Any additional comments?

The narration by Grace Grant and Sebastian York was brilliant as always. I was pleased to see that these novellas had finally been released as an audiobook.
