Publisher's summary

Gryphon: Honorable, loyal, dependable...tainted.

He was the ultimate warrior before imprisonment in the underworld changed him in ways he can't ignore.

She calls to him: "Come to me. You can't resist." But Gryphon will not allow himself to be ruled by the insidious whispers in his head. And there's only one way to stop them: Kill Atalanta, the goddess who enslaved him. But with so much darkness inside, he can't be sure what's real anymore. Even the Eternal Guardians, those who protect the human realms and the gods, want to exile him.

Finding Malea is like a miracle. Somehow he doesn't feel the pull of the dark when she's near. And he's determined to keep her as near as possible, whether she wants him close or not. But she's a temptation that will test every bit of control he has left. One that may ultimately have the power to send him back to the underworld...or free him from his chains for good.

Critic reviews

"Naughton's complex setting filled with Greek gods, monsters, heroes, and the machinations of bureaucrats and villains is worth exploring, and series readers will be satisfied by the steamy sex scenes and development of an intriguing world." ( Publishers Weekly)

Gryphon's struggle for freedom.

As per the rest of the series this is a good paranormal romance and I was glad to see Gryphon find his happy ending. I look forward to Titus's book and I will be defiantly continuing on with the series. I am curious to find out where the other two elements are and who will find them. Again I used the Whispersync program and was able to get the book less than a credit. Same narrator and I like her pretty good, she did keep mispronouncing Coeur D'Alene and since I live in Idaho it kinda bugged me.

Atlanta is in for a big surprise

The action with Gryphon and Malia is off the chain! The horrors and decisions these two faced were nail-biting.

I love these Guardians but want more story...

These book have been an addiction since I started them. I am flying through them. However, I have noticed that with each book there is more and more and more and more sex. I do love sex in my books but when it tends to take over and leaves you wanting story its annoying. I feel like 80% of this book was thoughts of sex or having sex. I also wish there was more dialogue, the story telling is good but I do miss dialogue. Gryphon and Maelea were great together and I loved her ancestry..

It's like you're sucked in and have to keep listening but are aggravated at the same time for more story. I hope the next book is a little more story. The narration has been great for sure.
On to the last book that's been released so far.

Loved it.

Where does Enslaved rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my favorites.

What does Elizabeth Wiley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really makes you think you are at these different places and you can picture the different characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When he figured out the soul mate thing.

A Hot / Sexy 5 star listen !!

Any additional comments?

This is Gryphon and Malea's love story. Gryphon is a warrior, brother, friend and dependable to the end. He was sent to the Underworld and made sacrifices to save his soul. When he was rescued he was not the same person when he returned. He heard voices, was psychotic and unpredictable. He found an escape with someone he didn't he didn't know, just that she could help him get out to find what he was looking for. Things changed when he was near her, the voices were not so loud, he could think more clearly, he was in control again. **This book is another outstanding listen. Fulled with passion. loyalty, love and Hot Hot Sex that that sent shivers down my spine! I so hope there are many more books to come in this awesome series, they are truly fabulous....

Salvation for Gryphon, home for Maelea

I liked this one. Gryphon was really messed up by the games played for power by Hades, Atlanta and Cronus. Even though Orpheus and the Argonauts had rescued him, Gryphon was still being mentally tormented by the perversions he acquiesced to just to keep from remaining in the underworld. Plus, Cronus bound Gryphon and Atlanta together so she kept calling him in his head.

*constantly hearing "Doolas" on the audio was driving me insane, so I can only sympathize with Gryph*. The narrator certainly made it grate my nerves.

Gryphon decides to leave the halfbreed colony before Nick kicked him out and he ran into another escapee, Maelea. He decided to use her as bait/ransom, so he took her as a hostage. During this journey Gryph discovered that Maelea's closeness drowned out Atlanta. In fact, her light soothed the darkness within him and soon he began to crave her touch.
How can a damaged, fallen hero like him attract the daughter of Zeus and Persephone? How could he deserve something so good when he had done some terrible things and may not even be stable? Maelea herself may not need convince as she sees the hero in Gryphon and may give up her personal quest to get to her father's realm--Olympus.

This series still needs work but I am still enjoying it. I liked this couple together and I like that Gryphon is trying to heal his mind. Maelea was a much stronger heroine than she was portrayed in the prior books. She gave Gryphon all he could handle. I am glad they found a mate in each other.

Question: what makes Maelea Gryphon's mate? What is her human traits that the Argonaut despised?

Annoying and tiresome

Could not finish as the characters are shallow and judgmental and the plot transparent. The narrator may have been annoying because of the material. Not worth the five bucks.
