Rick Yancey
The Passage meets Ender's Game in an epic new series from award-winning author Rick Yancey.
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.
Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

"Prepare to set everything else aside when you launch into this one. The break-neck pace and high stakes will draw you in, but it's the characters who will keep you turning pages. It's been a long time since I've read a story this compelling."—Cinda Williams Chima, New York Times bestselling author

Is there anything you would change about this book?
This reminds me of the Host BUT its good!! It's not 5,000 pages of boring emptiness. It keeps your attention and isn't pretentious like Ms. Meyers book. I enjoyed the characters and their struggles. A bit of a lovey story was annoying (only bc I don't like them) but was bearable bc it wasn't all frilly and obnoxious again like the Host was bleck! I generally like when books change points of view but for some reason I didn't enjoy that aspect in this book I liked Cassie's POV and found myself enjoying those chapters more than others. All in all s good book but not something I will obsess about!A pretty good read!
