...did not disappoint. I always enjoy the Darkyn books. Hope there are many more. Loved it.

Viehl and Parker, two of my favorites...

I was pleasantly surprised the newest installment of Viehl's Darkyn/Takyn series kept me interested and entertained. So many of my favorite series tend to disappoint me the longer the series continues. Add to that the fact that lately I've been terribly disappointed by most of my selections from Audible lately....and wished I could get my credit back! Not the case here.

Viehl has kept this series fresh for me by bringing in the Takyn and a whole new group of characters while keeping the old ones (the Darkyn) involved. I like most of the Takyn books better than her later Darkyn books. Keep it up! Can't wait to get a little more information about how, why, and by whom the Takyn were created.

If you liked Gabriel & Nicola, Sam and Lucan, Rowan, and Samuel, you should enjoy this installment of the Darkyn/Takyn series. (Yes, I consider it an ongoing project and never really felt the Darkyn series ended). Now where can I find her Novellas I missed (Incarnatio, Midnight Blues)? And has anyone read her teen books...Youngbloods?

One of her better stories

I've read all of Viehl's Darkyn books and the last two fell down a bit. This one was very good. I listened to the whole thing in one fine day off.

The narrator was prefect. She did a wonderful job with all the voices.

Really good

Firstly, this is listed as BOOK 8 on her website so WHAT has happened to the rest????? I see it's the start of Lords of Darkyn series but it completely throws you in at the deep end as the characters are talking about people, places and events that you know nothing about. Also, there was Kyndred books before this series too which all, unfortunately, have an impact on your total understanding and enjoyment.

However, I just had to suck it up, move on and overlook the fact that I hadn't got a clue to the back-story of the who, whats and whys. A romantic paranormal listen that starts with misunderstandings, murder, myths and a mission with many twists. It was action packed with a nicely described sex scene - there were some witty one-liners from another couple of characters in the book whose story was obviously told in a previous book.

Worth a credit? I like paranormal listens and will continued with the next book so I guess it's a YES - however, if it is going to refer back to previous storylines then I do have my doubts - unless Audible manages to put the entire Darkyn library on the website.

GOOD BUT.... WHERE'S THE PREVIOUS BOOKS???

She reads way too fast, I have experienced other narrators; Johanna needs to take her time to pronounce her words and allow us, as readers to experience the scenes.

I love all of Lynn Viehl's Darkyn books, great characters, good stories and details. Wish more of her books were available here. This was definitely worth listening to.

Awesome

But Chapter 16 has possibly the worst sex scene ever written. I mean EVER. Bad porn included. It is absolutely hilarious, too. It was almost satire. I couldn’t hear it through my guffaws and I had to stop several times because the cringe factor and second-hand embarrassment got the best of me. My Dear Johanna Parker did her best to get through it but I picked-up on her eyes starting to water and the barely held back mirth. It’s so so SO bad! It is almost worth recommending this listen just to get to that glorious part, but you have to have a strong constitution to bear it. I’m not sure I can continue past it to finish the book. I just don’t see the all-powerful dangerous darkling the same now. I might imagine Count Chocula.

I’m So Sorry
