Clay Bennett is a powerful DarkRiver sentinel, but he grew up in the slums with his human mother, never knowing his changeling father. As a young boy without the bonds of Pack, he tried to stifle his animal nature. He failed... and committed the most extreme act of violence, killing a man and losing his best friend, Talin, in the bloody aftermath. Everything good in him died the day he was told that she, too, was dead.
Talin McKade barely survived a childhood drenched in bloodshed and terror. Now a new nightmare is stalking her life - the street children she works to protect are disappearing and turning up dead. Determined to keep them safe, she unlocks the darkest secret in her heart and returns to ask the help of the strongest man she knows....
Clay lost Talin once. He will not let her go again, his hunger to possess her, a clawing need born of the leopard within. As they race to save the innocent, Clay and Talin must face the violent truths of their past... or lose everything that ever mattered.
Mind over matter: listen to more in the Psy-Changeling series.

"Paranormal romance at its best." (Publishers Weekly)
I enjoy reading series and very rarely read stand alone series. I mostly read romance and sci-fi & fantasy.
"Not one of my favorites but, still good."
I would if they are interested in the series. But not if they wanted to just read this book alone. It is a good as a stepping stone book. It is necessary for the series to continue but, not as a read only book. I thought the characters were written and described beautifully along with the clever wit but, i wasn't as impressed with the books as i was with the others.
I had a feeling that it would end the way it did. I just wish that there had been more build up to the ending but, it was a very good conclusion without the build up.
I would have to say no. This is a book that you can come back to and not listen to all at once . It is a good but not so that you have to drop everything and listen to this alone.
"Sooo disappointing"
Maybe. I got the 3 previous books and felt that each book became less and less enjoyable. This book was my "last chance" to save the series for me... but it was awful. It's almost like each book follows pretty much the same storyline... distressed woman, forbidden love, hero, true love forever... it has gotten pretty sickening.
I am not sure.

I hated the scenes that, in my opinion, were abusive
I am soo disappointed. I really loved the first book... the concept and the idea of the psy-changeling world was such an exciting idea... but unfortunately, this is just a redundant love story being rewritten over and over.
Busy mom who loves to read but doesn't always have the time. I enjoy YA, Romance and the occasional Best Seller.
"Another great book by Nalini Singh"
This is such a great series! I never feel like I've wasted a credit on any of these books. I suggest starting with the first but each can be read as a stand alone.
Definitely worth a credit
"Changeling passion at its best!"
Clay and Talin's story... WOW!! Nalini is positively an amazing author. Even though this wasn't a psy to changeling match, Nalini brings the human, psy and all the changeling worlds together throughout the book. The romance between Clay and Talin is hot and everything you hope for them!
I used to be an avid reader of Romance novels. I usually preferred the Harlequin & Silhouette series''. I would read several books a day over the summer and several a week during school months. I took a long break as an adult but have gotten back to it this year and am very much enjoying my Audible experience. So far I still really like general Romance but have found a real unexpected joy in Supernatural & Paranormal Romances.
"Just a little too angsty for me"
This was still a good book, but not as good as I'd have liked. There was a lot of back story between the two main characters that didn't really even get hinted at in previous books. So it felt like the getting to re-know you part was crammed in with a lot of back story.
As always with these books, I love the world created and Nalini Singh does a great job with the general writing in the book. The narration remains unremarkable, but it doesn't detract from the story, so it works fine.
"Keeps getting better"
Action... Fantasy... Romance
Each book in the series picks up where the last one left off
She's done a great job with this series
I enjoyed the whole book
Each book in the series just keeps getting better
"Favorite Series"
Great series!!!! This is my favorite series. Each book builds on the overall world while keeping you interested in the individual romances. A few of the book were about secondary characters that I didn’t care about at the beginning and absolutely loved by the end. This review applies to the first 9 books in the series.
I have an addiction to Audio books. What I can't get at the library, I come to Audible and they are always having a sale. I have way more audiobooks than I could possible listen to in over 3 years, but I can't help but adding to my collection and I read a little of everything but mostly romance and paranormal goodies.
"Not so good."
This one in my opinion is the worst one of the series. But in order to get all the details with the background story for others, one must drudge through. It wasn't a complete loss, although I will never read it again.
"Fun"
I love how these books let you see the previous couples in the series. It isn't like once you're done with their book, they disappear. Instead the books are making their own web of couples that contribute to each following book. I like the main couple of this particular book and each couple is so different from the one before. I know basically how each one is going to end but how they get there is different. I also like seeing the developments in the overarching storyline with the Psy council. I'll definately continue to listen to each book. Angela Dawe as the narrator really embodies these books for me.
"Really enjoying this series and the narration is.."
some of the best I have listened to.
Very interesting world she has created.
Really like the way she plays all the parts. Adds to the story.
