Taken by Midnight: The Midnight Breed, Book 8

Loved it,, it has action, a twist or two and a good steamy romance. love all of the Midnight Breed books!!

I love all of these Midnight breed books, I am a little disappointed that they end so abruptly. So much time is given developing the characters - then it is over end of story. I can't wait to see what the next one will be like so see what has developed with Jenna and Brock and the others. Is she or isn't she, that is the question waiting for the answer.

I have really enjoyed this whole series, but I thought this installment wasn't as good as the other books. The main characters (Brock & Jenna) were not well developed and the plot failed to pick up the on going 'Dragos vs The Order' theme. It seemed almost as if the author has written this book without a clear idea of where she intends the series plot to go.

This installment, Book 8, is unique as compared to others in the series. The story really begins to draw from earlier installments... tying together critical details uncovered regarding Dragos' plans. The love affair that develops between Brock & Jenna lives up to the romantic element readers have come to expect from the series. Watch out for the shower scene!

Here, the strong female characters in the story graduate beyond Renata, the powerful breedmate from Book 5. However, Jenna was once only human until her encounter with the ancient... the story picks up right where Shades of Midnight, Book 7 leaves off. The mysterious thoughts of the ancient expounded while in the cabin in the previous installment sets up for Book 8. Certain physical changes are detailed well, but I felt let down by the lack of development in the story/plot of Jenna's character. After having taken the time to develop/support her transition from human into an 'other', neither this installment nor subsequent installments develop the implications/intention of the ancient's motivations or the purpose for Jenna's transition. Such, along with a few others, leave the reader hanging at the story's conclusion.

These are great books, some compare to BDB but that is not true. They are VERY different and the entire series flows like a single book which is GREAT. I got hooked and now can not wait until the next book comes out. The narrators many different voices make it all the better. LOVE IT!

Loved this book! Thought the new twists added were great and the steamy shower scenes didn't disappoint either. I highly recommend this book and series to any Feehan, Showalter or Moning fans!

All of her books are great but this one is my favorite. Hilary Hubber does a very good job narrating Lara books.

Loved Brock and Jenna's story. I experienced so many emotions while reading it. It was like riding a roller coaster where you enjoy every minute of the experience.

Wonderful storyline. Lot's of surprises here. Thoroughly enjoyed this contribution to the series.
