Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down, she still yearns for a knight in shining armor. She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur.
Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered - something no self-respecting wolf can accept. But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

"More character driven than her previous Dark-Hunter novels, Kenyon's latest is a nice change of pace yet still chock-full of the quirky humor, complex fantasy, and searing passion that her readers love. This book's success, however, appropriately lies with Bride and Vane. It's been said of Kenyon that she knows men, but she really knows women and all our secret fears and hidden desires." (Booklist)
"Was expecting fluff and got substance! Good story."
Yes. Interesting and fun.
The story felt real. Complex characterization.
I had to like Furry. Her veterinarian father was intriguing. Snotty sister a close third. Come to think of it many of the secondary characters were interesting.
It was sweet, straightforward and endearing. I'm not a sentimentalist and often roll my eyes over sappy story lines.
My first book by this author. Bought it on sale because it looked light and fun. it was that but more. It's a "feel good" book without being sugary or simplistic. Story had a few twists and turns. Characters were developed and dimensional. Delivered a solid good story that was well written. Don't overlook this one if you like a straightforward story that does not leave you feeling depressed or icky. The whole fantasy supernatural thing supported the plot and was not the main feature. It was a simple and charming love story with a bit of adventure and intrigue tossed in. Really good for driving or doing chores. I liked it and you don't need to enjoy this genre to find the story charming.
"Victoria"
How romantic! Can't wait to find out who Furry's mate is. I listened to Bad Moon Rising and this fell right in line with it. Loved the narrator. Looking forward to more. Enjoy, I did.
"Night Play"
I really enjoy this book because it gives us big bones girls hope that there is a prince out there for us.This book has the right idea of relationship.
"Very Nice! "
I enjoyed this narrator, the story was interesting and at times funny. I love the series and waiting to get more Ms Kenyons audibles!
"Wonderful Story"
This story reminds us all of the true power of love. Vane loves Bride no matter what, he breaks the mold and shows her that with love everything is posible. Vane teaches Bride that in order to love you must love yourself faults and all. This is top ten in my book library.
5 stars is i love and i will read agani and again. 1 is i hate and i never want to hear about it ever again. YES = :))) - NO= :'(
"I'm Tired from all the love"
First of all, i'm reading these books because they have a good plot, i like the idea of having all these gods around, it makes a good story.
Each book i read, including this one, was a good book.... but i'm just freaking tired from all the sex scenes in these books... i know that i'm at book 4 and still more than 10 to go.. but still.. having each book talking primarily about how incredibly sexy someone is or how hot the other is... its just boring afterwards.
so ya, i'm reading tese books for the plot and to know what wil happen in the future for all o these characters including Acheron.
This book what i liked about it is that it showed and dove into the life of one of the characters who was there in the 2nd book and is not a dark hunter who will ask for his soul back in the end of the book.
"VANE! VANE! VANE!! Need I saw more?"
Narrater Fred Berman did a wonderful job with the character Vane. His voice really became the character and the emotional level was right on the money.
Vane! Such a strong man and when he meets Bride...oh my gosh! What woman wouldn't want someone like Vane to walk into her life and be a real hero! I Love him as much as I love Asheron and Zerek!
Oh yes! He does a great job each time. He is one of my favorite narraters.
Yes and that's just what I did! I spent all day in front of my computer with this book! Also put this one to disk and mp3 to take with me!
I love the whole Dark-Hunters series! Sherrilyn Kenyon does a wonderful job with each story. You will find yourself cheering for one character or another, but that is to be expected! These are books worth buying!
"Easy to follow along and love this series!"
I love to read about men with animal instincts and the normal women they fall in love with (not the perfect size 3 chicks). Try to save brother, fight off crazy parents, and convince his love to stay with him in his world. Okay yes it was longer than 3 words.
II'll pass on this question.
He sounds the same in all of them and he does a good job. One of the reasons I continue to listen to this series instead of reading it.
Yes
"Good Listen"
Sure
Acheron
No but he does a really good job with giving each character a different voice and doing different accents.
Can't pick just one, I love every part of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books.
"My Favorite in the series so far...."
I'm so hooked on this series. So far this is my favorite book. I love how all the characters work together. Fred Berman does a wonderful job narrating.
