Publisher's Summary

Attention Deficit Disorder, the most common learning and behavioral problem among children, also affects millions of adult Americans, more of which are being diagnosed with this potentially disabling condition every day.

Now Kate Kelly, a clinical psychiatric nurse, and Peggy Ramundo, a specialist in learning disorders -- both of whom were diagnosed with ADD after discovering it in their children -- bring together their considerable personal and professional experiences to create the essential guide to identifying, understanding, and managing the dynamics of ADD in adults.

You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid Or Crazy?! provides accurate information, practical "how-to's," up-to-date research findings and moral support, and explores such issues as:

  • the differences unique to ADD adults and their impact on daily life

  • the diagnostic process

  • treatment options

  • personal, family, and work relationships
  • Already well respected across the country, You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid Or Crazy?! is the indispensable reference for anyone who faces the challenge of ADD on a daily basis.

      "Things finally make sense"

I have heard of ADD all of my life. Everytime I hear a symptom I say "that sounds like me." I have never had it all together in one message so I have never put the pieces together. I downloaded this book to listen to while running. I listened to the entire thing in one run and I know those around me thought I was crazy. With headphones on I just kept saying, probably yelling, "THAT'S ME!" I can't explain what a difference it has made just reading the book. Understanding that I'm not lazy and/or stupid has removed a huge burden. I just turned 49 on the 16th of November and I have lived with these issues all of my life. Kate and Peggy - Thank you for putting this together. Unfortunately I live in Oklahoma City where there is no listing for assistance or groups. Someone please help if you can. I need to find a group and a physician that understands Adult ADD.

"Not quite what I was needing..."

I was expecting some useful tips on dealing with my ADD personality traits like procrastination. They spent a lot of time defining ADD, some time on how to behave at a dinner party and too much time talking about how to not scare off a potential mate.

      "Great overview"

This is a great overview of ADD written by a college kid with ADD. Just reading through this prompted me to take action and get seen for my own ADD issues.

      "Good book discussing ADD"

We hear the term ADD a lot these days. Its important to remember the third 'D' is for disorder. Because it isn't as obvious as other disorders, sufferers of ADD are unfairly labeled and often never reach their potential. Books like this are a great help to those who have ADD, or as help understand someone who has ADD.

"Must Have for Any Adult with ADHD!!!"

I have ADHD and I found this book to be extremely informative about the disorder. It helped me understand more about myself then I had in a lifetime.
