When a troop of alien warriors demands the return of an imprisoned comrade -- a prisoner no one on Deep Space NineTM knows anything about -- Commander Benjamin Sisko has a deadly fight on his hands. Under sudden attack from the heavily armed warriors, Sisko and his crew struggle desperately to repel the invaders and save the lives of everyone on board.
Meanwhile, a strange device from the Gamma Quadrant has shifted Ferengi barkeeper Quark and Security Chief Odo three days into the future to a silent Deep Space Nine. To save the station they must discover what caused the invasion to take place, and find a pathway back through time itself.© and (P)1994 Paramount Pictures, All Rights Reserved; AUDIOWORKS Is an Imprint of Simon & Schuster Audio Division, Simon & Schuster Inc.

I really enjoyed this book. A great reading by The Late Rene Ajounanquo. I hope that more books are made.

A Great Novel of Deep Space Nine!!

I got this audiobook since the late Rene Auberjonis passed away back in December of last year, I thought it would be nice to hear him reprise his role as “Odo”. I thought he did alright capturing “Quark” compared to the rest of the DS9 crew, but nonetheless still a good job. The story was “meh”.

It Was Okay

Felt like a good siege type episode. Worth another listen hope they make more of these little audio books.

I love this book because it's what Star Trek wasn't allowed to be in the '90s.

Dark.
Ruthless.
Lethal.

This is Star Trek where things go from bad to worse... and then even worse. DS9 is suddenly beseiged by an unknown Gamma Quadrant race and it's quickly proven that the Federation is outgunned. This isn't a Star Trek story in an idealized future with a neat last minute [sciene puzzle / diplomacy] twist ending. This is our favorite characters simply fighting for survival, and when I read this in '94, it blew my mind that this kind of story could be told in the Star Trek universe.

Thirty years later, when stories about Section 31 get their own action movies, it might not seem that crazy. But in it's day, it raised the bar on the possibilities of Star Trek story-telling.

Not your everyday Star Trek.

The story was one big catastrophe another so compelling, well narrated and the writing was okay but anyone who knows the series wouldnt feel all the characters ring true.

Gripping but unrealistic
