"Pleasantly surprised"
I grew up reading science fiction anthologies so I came to learn they can be frustrating at times. Everyone has differing tastes, and despite an editor's best efforts the chance of all the stories pleasing everyone is slim to none. And an anthology of erotic stories is even more dangerous. The stories depend to at least a certain extent to being able to get the reader's sexual interest and one person's sexual fantasy is often another's turn off. But I've loved Susie Bright's "In Bed With..." series here on Audible for years, and wanted to give this a try.
And I was pleasantly surprised at how many I actually enjoyed. I like stories that mix genres, so it's understandable I liked the ghost story. But the film noir story was a more unexpected pleasure since it mixed the hard boiled crime story I like with a gay storyline I generally don't.
In most cases I don't purchase abridged or partial audio book so picking one marked as "unabridged selections" was a first. But after listening to the whole thing, I think selecting specific stories for the audio version was a great idea. I may have to sample some more of the "Best American Erotica" series.1 of 1 people found this review helpful
