Publisher's summary

Shelli Adler has known what she wanted since she was 11 years old. Aiden Brooks.

But Aiden has always had other ideas. After spending the early years of his life without his dad, hockey legend Lucas Brooks, Aiden is determined not to settle for anything less than true love. When he's ready. Now he's living the fast life of an NHL bachelor. He won't give his heart to any one girl, but they can have his body - all night long.

The party to celebrate the start of the second half of the season was supposed to be no different from any other night. And when a stunning stranger approaches him, he can't seem to keep his hands off her.

The next morning, she's gone, and he's been traded to his dad's former team, the Nashville Assassins. All of his professional dreams are coming true, but he can't shake the memory of the girl from that last party. He wants to see her again. Though, after moving across the country - and without knowing her name-that dream seems like a puck destined to miss the net.

For Shelli, her night with Aiden was everything she'd ever imagined it could be, and she's sure it is all about to change for them. But for that to happen . . . he would have to know who she was.

Wrong voice for Adien.

Toni Aleo is a great hockey author. She definitely is a fan of the game you feel it in all the books. However I have pictured Aiden for many years. The voice is way to wimpy for a hot young man who's hockey is DNA deep. He is Lucas's son. Grant it his early years were messed up because of his parents, but he had to inherit some cockiness & confidence. From both of his parents. Maybe if he had a different voice maybe his insecurities wouldn't be so overwhelming. If you can get over that the book is good. Is it Tate, Lucas or Shay no. But is worth the credit. Those are better than gold and I dont use them or advise anyone to use them lightly.

Surprisingly Awesome

I didn’t think I’d like this book but it was pretty great! Nothing over the top, characters are very relatable, and the momentum of the story was perfect. I like that the supporting characters weren’t positive and supportive and not feeding into the negative inner monologues. Made the angsty parts more tolerable.
I gave all 5s because I really enjoyed the book. Aiden’s voice was ok for me, Chelle’s voice was not great but once getting until the story I didn’t mind.

Worth it!

Didn’t hate or even like it

It was okay story. Didn’t care for main characters. The h was too easy and contradicting. Didn’t care for her inner thoughts. The H by far worse. After he didn’t know who he slept with, and the h got all mad. Then she had no problem being treated as a sex object. I stopped after this. The sex was grossed since it was all about sex.

How does she do it?

The excitement of finally having the Assasins next gen series available as an audio book was well worth the wait! How she manages to make us fall in love with the hope of finding/ being loved in every book is beyond me but she always does and I for one appreciate this! Yet again Toni Aleo wows me with the plot twists, stellar writing and I absolutely love all the laughs and tears it caused. The added bonus for this book is the gang's all here and per usual the Adler's and Brooks's add amazing elements of hilarity and love that caused me to fall in love with Aleo novels to begin with.

Per any Aleo novel her use of music to make a scene that much more special is on point and I always take away a new favorite song or I'm introduced to a new artist I was clueless about and this is one of my favorite take aways from a Toni Aleo novel! ( because I always look up the songs and listen to the lyrics )

Great Book

I have read all the the books in the original series, and this book brought back all the love for those books and a great start to the next gen!. I love Shelly and Aiden.

Disappointed 😞

I loved the Nashville assassin series and I was looking forward to this one as well. unfortunately this story missed the mark for me. I feel like the characters hardly had a backstory. everything happened so quickly in the story and I felt like all I was reading was the hanky panky. For example (without spoilers), there was build up for an event like the puppy photo shoot and then we heard nothing about it when it happened. it seems like the couple had hardly any adversities to overcome. it was sad that they had problems, but it wasn't really shown to me. overall I'm just disappointed in story.
the narrators, however, were amazing. I loved listening to the country accent by Tayna Eby. she's an amazing narrator.

This was a great start to the series. I really loved having a look at Lucas and Shea with their kids plus Ellie and Fallon It was a fun story and great listen.
