Her

I wanted him, but couldn't find the courage to have him. You know that feeling, the one where you're too scared to go to sleep, too scared to go out, and too scared to do anything? Ever since my assault, I've been functioning, but not living. That was until I met that motorcycle riding man with such a deep gravelly voice that it sent shivers down my spine. He helped me through some of the darkest moments of my life.

Him

She was a cock tease pure and simple. Or so I thought. What I believed to be a game on her part, turned out to be a bone-deep fear of everyday life. We helped each other cope, and slowly our friendship turned into something more.

Them

Circumstances broke the two of us apart just as we decided we wanted to be together. A vengeful woman sets out to ruin Max and anything he holds dear in his life. Payton has gone through so much in her life that enduring one more thing just might break her. Only Max taught Payton a few things. Never hold back. Never hesitate. Do something stupid, and always learn from your mistakes. Together, they can overcome anything.

Contains mature themes.

Story gets an A-. Narrator gets a C

was. good book. I enjoyed it but the female narrator is just not my cup of tea. Every time I see a book with this narrator I get a little bummed because I have never really liked her voice. Male narrator is great and he saves the books he co-narrates with her. I dis enjoy the story though. I felt it was a little long but there were definitely a lot of exciting suspenseful moments and kept me on my toes. Overall I really liked this book and I will listen to it again.

I liked the book

This book was hard to get through mainly because the female narrator annoyed the heck out of me. She had moments when she narrated fine but then she would slip back into some 1930's mob wife. It made me cringe everytime and took away from my enjoyment.

Went off the rails

I love LLV series', but, while this one started out great, it kind of went off the rails to the point that it wasn't believable. It seemed as though the author got bored so just kept adding in more tragedies. I lost track of the amount of car accidents there were. There were fires, fights, and ridiculous antagonists to the point it was just too much! Things happened the couple had sex, another thing happened, more sex, etc. It just dragged on. At one point I thought it had to be almost over, but when I checked there was still more than 2 hours to go! After awhile the tragedies lose their effect because they just moved on quickly to the next thing. You don't really feel the effects of what went on when the book just hops along to the next thing. Hope the next one in the series is better.

Too many accidents but good

You can only have so many bad things happen in a story like or it dilutes the effect- there’s a fire, beating, like 5 car accidents, hospital invasion…too much for me. I love protective MCs but I think part of the draw is always being left wanting more so maybe a bit less of the drama would have been better for the story

Oh boy

So here we get Max and Peyton's story. There is a lot going on and wow they go through so much in this one. Similar humar with this one and some new fun characters with Peyton's family. It's a bit of a sweeter love that the last 2 and again same narration.

Female Narrator, ugh!

Enjoy LLV books, but female narrator really needs to change. I liked Kendall Taylor much better.
As always, loved Mason Lloyd.

Max & Payton

Loved reading about these characters & hearing there stories but everything is almost the same with each story. Female lead is another nurse gets pregnant right off the bat then the bad character comes after them & something happens while they’re pregnant. I listen to the series to see what happens to the characters & because they’re free but I probably won’t listen to them if I had to pay for them.
Female narrator not the best.

Great story

I enjoyed listening to this story about a woman who has been through a terrible experience and finds the strength to take a chance on love. I enjoyed that a dog was a part of her healing process. I look forward to listening to more stories from this author and this narrator.

A Must Read Series

The books keep getting better and better as each character story is revealed. This was even better because there is suspense, drama, support, family and love. No angst but HEA. The narrators also did a great job making the characters come alive.
