Publisher's summary

A hilarious and whip-smart collection of essays, offering an intimate look at bisexuality, gender, and, of course, sex. Perfect for fans of Lindy West, Samantha Irby, and Rebecca Solnit - and anyone who wants, and deserves, to be seen.

If Jen Winston knows one thing for sure, it’s that she’s bisexual. Or wait - maybe she isn’t? Actually, she definitely is. Unless...she’s not?

Jen’s provocative, laugh-out-loud debut takes us inside her journey of self-discovery, leading us through stories of a childhood “girl crush”, an onerous quest to have a threesome, and an enduring fear of being bad at sex. Greedy follows Jen’s attempts to make sense of herself as she explores the role of the male gaze, what it means to be “queer enough”, and how to overcome bi stereotypes when you’re the posterchild for all of them: greedy, slutty, and constantly confused.

With her clever voice and clear-eyed insight, Jen draws on personal experiences with sexism and biphobia to understand how we all can and must do better. She sheds light on the reasons women, queer people, and other marginalized groups tend to make ourselves smaller, provoking the question: What would happen if we suddenly stopped?

Greedy shows us that being bisexual is about so much more than who you’re sleeping with - it’s about finding stability in a state of flux and defining yourself on your own terms. This book inspires us to rethink the world as we know it, reminding us that Greedy was a superpower all along.

Resonating

I haven’t read a queer story that resonates so well with me. My story is still unfolding and it’s reading experiences like this that get me closer to expressing my full and complete self.

I don’t feel all bi-myself anymore 🤍

As a bisexual navigating life in a very straight society, it felt so good to find this book and find bits of myself in it.

Jen is an author and person whom I truly felt I could relate to, so I was excited to give this a listen after having read the book. The way I laughed and cried as she shared anecdotes of scenarios I swear you just had to be bi to understand. My heart swooned throughout, having never felt so seen before. The way we are taken on this self discovery journey along with them navigating bisexuality and life is and so laudable to me. It’s so damn important to share queer stories, and this is def one of my faves. With that being said, it quickly became a book/audio that I enjoy revisiting.

The audio really was the icing on the cake. It almost felt like I was chillin with Jen on the phone with way you do with your homegirl. I was able to follow along with my hard copy which was great.

Relatable and touching

This collection of essays was witty, relatable, and structured in a way that it really told the story of so many bisexual femmes—trapped in a cycle of living for male validation, and being unsure if you’re valid enough to claim space as queer in the community.

It touches on a lot of important points about white feminism, bisexuality, queerness in general. As someone who has been following Jen since the days of Girl Power Supply, my own experience of feminism has changed in a similar way that theirs has, and I thought this was written in thoughtful way that shows that growth, change, and confusion are truly the only constants in life. I really enjoyed this book. Thanks, Jen, for writing so honestly about the experience of the bi community.

Love it!

I read Greedy with a sex ed book club that popped up out of nowhere in my life last year. Reading this book helped me feel not alone and able to have more clarity around my own experiences as a bisexual person. It’s given me the confidence to explore and be myself. I appreciate Jen’s open and funny approach to story telling and definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s looking for a good thought provoking read.

Powerful, funny, real, SO good!

As a forever confused bi-sexual, I could not have loved this book more. So amazing to hear a story so similar to mine. Very affirming. Buying this for at least 3 friends, and so should you!

Woman is a Word

I don’t know how many bisexuality-focused autobiographies are out there, but this is the first I’ve encountered. Representation matters and this book resonated with me in a lot of different ways. Grateful Jen was willing to share the good, the bad, and the ugly about their journey (so far).
