Publisher's summary

The definitive guide for anyone dreaming of living in paradise when they retire.

Whether motivated by a desire for adventure or the need to make the most of a diminished nest egg, more and more Americans are considering an overseas retirement. Drawing on her more than three decades of experience helping people relocate happily and successfully, Kathleen Peddicord shows how living in an unconventional retirement destination can cost less than a traditional home in Florida or Arizona. Peddicord addresses all of the essential issues, including: finding a home to own or rent; researching and understanding your tax liability; obtaining health insurance and medical care; avoiding common mistakes and pitfalls; and opening a bank account.

Whether listeners are interested in relatively unknown havens like Nicaragua, well-traveled areas in Italy, or need some help deciding, How to Retire Overseas is the ultimate guide to making retirement dreams come true.

one of the better books on the topic

I've struggled to find books that are similar to this. Kathleen Peddicord does a good job covering a lot of the areas of the world you'd be interested in retiring to.

Narrator voice is fake, hammy & distracting

I wanted to love this Audible book, but I struggled to listen because of the drippy, corny, “over-acting” of the narrator. It was too painful to tolerate. I will buy the book and read myself. Hopefully the content (without the grating stage voice) will be worth the investment- skip the Audible book!

Not my cup of tea

I really would’ve liked information about Sweden Denmark to go into more detail about her experience in Ireland rather than saying she missed being around Americans etc. etc. She just spoke about places that honestly aren’t all that cheap and are only in South America and a couple of places in Asia. I would’ve thought she would’ve talked about India etc. etc. Pretty disappointing.
