Publisher's summary

When a resurgent Phil Mickelson won the Tour Championship in September 2009, he was quick to credit a series of simple putting lessons from veteran golf champion and instructor Dave Stockton. As a top coach, Stockton has taught a long list of pro players the putting strategies that finessed their game.

Stockton's breakthrough concept is that every player has their own signature stroke, which is unconscious. Good putting comes from the mind, Stockton says, not from a series of stiff mechanical positions. With visualization, the right frame of mind, an efficient pre-putt routine, and connection to the individual internal stroke signature, any player can make far more putts. Unconscious Putting will help players get out of the rigid, mechanical, overthinking trap.

In Unconscious Putting, Stockton shows how players at every handicap level - from pros to weekend golfers - can putt effortlessly and with confidence by integrating a new mental approach with a few simple physical routines that will keep them locked on target. Listeners will also gain invaluable advice on reading greens and equipment. Illustrated throughout and filled with anecdotes about how Stockton's lessons have helped today's leading players, Unconscious Putting is a must-have golf book and a category classic in the making.

Putt like signing your name!

An informative book on the frame of mind required to putt by one of the PGA Tour’s all time best putters. It’s a frame of mind that can be applied to your whole game, not just putting.

A primer to develop feel on the greens

This is a great book to remind us that short game is all about feel, not technical factors. I enjoyed listening to every chapter and plan to make adjustments to my game based on this.

Must read for every golfer no matter skill level!

this book has changed the way I think about putting completely. I'm on the road listening to this and can't wait to get home and head to the practice green to start rolling putts. I've always been a feel player (4-5 handicap) especially around the greens, I just can't believe I'm mechanical when putting. this book makes me feel like I can become a 0 handicap soon.

Best Book of its Kind

Don’t let little bobbles like “Ahhh-men Corner” and “Bryon Nelson” fool you. Lol This is absolutely the best book on putting I have ever read. Dave Stockton lays out the essential elements for improvement and success in a very practical and uncomplicated manner. And the progression of ideas presented in the book creates a logical sequence that enabled me to view putting in a completely new and personalized way. One of the essential qualities of the book is that it is NOT a technical manual or checklist. Everything Stockton says makes sense, and the explanations and examples he offers create strong visual and experiential learning opportunities. This is an great book!
