old

Luckily I knew this was an old book rereleased, because the characters do not reflect current attitudes. I love Jayne Ann Krentz but I'll have to stick to more current books. Amy grated on my nerves so badly. 😟

Wow hv times changed!

Narration was very good. Story is dated but that’s to be expected as the book was first published in 1983 as a Harlequin-type book. I just cringed at some of the romance relationship imagery that today people would not be okay with. It’s really amazing how far women have come and how far we still have to go.

An old book

I don’t understand why the original date is publication isn’t required to be listed. Very deceptive in my mind. Ruined the whole book for me.

Fun light hearted story.

You can tell this is one of her earlier works. But if you want a fun summer read with some quirky dialogue this is it.

timeless...

keep in mind this was written in the early 80's; it deals with the emotional decisions of family and responsibility interwoven with a bit of suspense.
(thought the choice of narrator could have been better in my opinion)

sexist and dated

This is an old book and like most of JAKs earlier works, the male lead is an obnoxious, sexist jerk. Not fond of this narrator either.

Seems like something Jayne would have written in the 1980s

First book of hers that I didn’t finish. I rolled my eyes most of the time

Too old

Couldn’t even get very interested, had to really work to finish.
I prefer Ms. Krentz’s later works. Will need to pay more attention to original publication dates when buying future books.
