Publisher's summary

Sometimes, trust can get you killed.

Deep Del Toro, an Iniquus special operative on the Strike Force Team, listened to the radio as the announcer gave details of Lacey Stuart's upcoming press conference. He had watched video of her fighting off the FBI agent and escaping from a murder scene the night before, and now she was turning herself over to the police. What Deep's practiced eye saw in the video was a highly choreographed crime. But somehow Lacey had thwarted the professionals' plans. She was in imminent danger.

When Deep saves Lacey from a sniper's bullet at the press conference, he becomes enmeshed in a mystery that includes the FBI, the CIA, and a tangle of interconnected international crimes.

Deep and Lacey work as a team to discover who plays the good guy and who plays the bad guy in a gray world where right and wrong easily overlap.

captivating

couldn't see until well into the story how things may play out. Mr Duran did a spectacular job, my current favorite narrator. only complaint is (spoilers!) the scene with the vehicle falling off the ledge - really? keep it from falling off with a rope tied around a tree? ugh.
still loved the book

Amazing story, full of action and suspense

Once I started I couldn’t stop listening, the characters were very well developed and the storyline was intriguing. Troy Duran did an excellent job in the performance of this book. I think I’m going to put him right up there with AIDEN SNOW, which is High praise indeed. You will enjoy this book.

Great read!

I really enjoyed this one and getting to know both Deep and Lacey. Lacey and Deep met when Iniquus' art was stolen and they had an immediate connection. He ended up asking her out but she said no due to the fact that she was dating Steve at the time. She knows that he works for Iniquus and so when things start to go really bad, he is the one that she reaches out to as someone that she thinks she can trust and keep her safe. Deep shows up in a big way for her, when he saves her from a sniper shot and they are off in hiding, trying to figure out exactly what is going and why people are after her. I loved Deep's open communication with Lacey and how he was okay if she didn't tell him everything immediately, the only thing he asked for was for her not to lie to him and he wouldn't lie to her. The story, action, and intrigue was well developed and engaging. I loved watching these two come together with a romantic relationship but also to figure out the puzzle. This was a great read and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series!
The narrator did a great job with the characters and bringing the story to life with acting out the story in their voice and showcasing the emotions.

Douglas Sabattis

I liked the story. The development of the love story. And characters. I don't like what Steve did but I think he really loved her. But still he did help in Danica death. Sadly he let everyone lead him. Causing Lacey to have put in danger.

Gang busters!🧫

Overall, this is a fun book and I did enjoy it. Kudos to Troy for doing all the voices.

If you’re looking for a in-depth thriller with lots of mysterious twist and turns, this is the book for you.

If I had to write this book on just the thrilling moments and plot, I would give it a five star.

This book was recommended to me after I listened to other murder, mystery romance books.

The only thing that I didn’t care for about this book was the fact that it didn’t really have any romance in it.

They built up two moments, but then skipped over all of the actual romance and sexy moments and went onto the next day like it never happened.

I understand some people are not into writing sex scenes or listening to sexy scenes, but I really love thriller romance books and this just didn’t cut it for me because it didn’t have any romance.

I also want to make one thing perfectly clear Troy Duran is my favorite narrator. His voice is like liquid gold. I love everything he does and has ever narrated. With that being said, I love his husky rough Viking voice. It melts me. In this particular book, he did the voice of the female lead , and I was not real keen on it. When Troy did her voice, she reminded me of my 80 year-old aunt. Seriously I’m not trying to be facetious or rude. I’m just saying it didn’t sound like a young girl to me therefore, I could not get into her character.Just sayin🔮

Overall, it was a good book. I hope you enjoy.

Weak girl meets alpha male

Girl falls apart often and always at the most inopportune moments. Repeatedly avoids both gathering all information and/or absorbing information before making life or death choices. Also repeatedly handicaps other's decision making by failing to fully divulge information. Alpha male endlessly saves her. And somehow he falls in love? They both need a therapist!
