Publisher's summary

To protect the dragon misfits, he must first understand them.

Jason has returned to the normalcy of the mountain village, but nothing is as it had been. Now connected to the Ice Dragon and responsible for keeping his presence a secret, it won't be long before the Dragon Souls return. They know the Ice Dragon exists and will stop at nothing to control him.

When the Ice Dragon makes a request of Jason to search for other dragons like him, how can he refuse?

The search leads Jason away from home and into direct conflict with those searching for another dragon misfit. Jason must find the dragon and a way to protect it before the Dragon Souls bring the full might of their force to bear.

The arrival of a familiar foe forces Jason to look for help, but how can those of Dragon Haven trust him when they think he's betrayed them?

Cool Story

I'm really enjoying this adventure! Matt is doing a superb job with the narration. On to the next book.

Good storyline but a bit repetitive

Seems like the suspenseful parts of the story drag put a little long in some areas and are very repetitive but still enjoyed the book overall.

Best part is that the book is clean

Overall this was a good story. It is clean and free of anything offensive. It furthered the plot although Holmberg does get repetitive which can get a little annoying at times.

Nonoffensive

Loved it! Clean, good story line! One of the few books series I don't have to worry about offending my sense of morality! Thank you! Hopefully they stay that way...

Too Stupid to Live

I was starting to enjoy this series until the main character showed himself too stupid to live. At that point, I lost interest. Protagonists that are tree stump dumb don't interest me.

same story different book

OK book 1, slow, slower but I kept listening. some authors need to build a base. Book 2 no depth. 1/2 done and it's a tragic lack of refreshing content. Matt G gets kudos for not falling asleep while reading. I do while listening.

OK for someone who can't get enough dragons

Low vocabulary count, highly repetitive word use and redundant descriptive style, suitable for young readers who are not ready for CS Lewis Voyage of the Dawntreader. About same level as Dragon Slippers by Jessica Day George but less imaginative. Mostly action and inner cogitation, but little plot and character development, other than the emergence of a teenage reluctant superhero. On the positive side, our young hero is a really good guy

2.2x playback speed is still too slow. I went on to book 3 but gave up half way through. I continue my quest to find better books to recommend to young readers.
