Robert Johnson is one of my favorite Jungian scholars. i have read and re-read this entire series (He, She,We) many times and gained insights into relationships with myself and partners. His simplicity and clarity of writing about myths open up avenues in the psyche for transformation. The narration was paced just right and Josh's voice made the listening easy.

I feel like i thought everyone k ew what it meant to be a “she” but I now realize what healing qualities we embody and the mystery we hold. I’d like to listen again.

Something to ponder

This is an illuminative work on Jungian concepts as they play out in the myth of Psyche and Eros. However, the modern listener may tempted to project modern definitions of “myth,” “feminine,” and “masculine” onto those terms in ways that would prevent them from getting the true meaning of this text. Johnson does a good job reminding readers of Jung’s principles and the way Jungian psychologists see these terms, but it’s worth repeating this even in a review here.
The final points seemed especially pertinent to the modern person and was refreshing for me to hear as a woman.

A very thought provoking book, despite it's short length. If anyone is unfamiliar with the Eros & Psyche myth, this sums it up very well while also emphasizing the dichotomy of the message, symbolism and psychology of the feminine.

Only lacking in drawing comparisons between the myth/psychology/modern life. It remained a bit too elusive for me. Would have appreciated more substance in that form. Will have to listen to this again in order to draw out more of my own conclusions and understanding.

Johnson’s humility, insight and wisdom is, well, mythic. And, as always, a small gem in the mine, but always of the most worth and value.

The author uses the story of Psyche to explain how feminine psychology works. I like it because the author goes in-depth with the story and how it relates to the feminine. It really helps us in life to understand both the feminine and masculine.

Listening to the book is nice and entertaining. The narrative thread, though is confusing to me. I’m just a man looking to understand women psychology. It was hard to me to separate the underlying psychology pieces from the tale.

The book pushes the idea that women are placed on this earth as servants to men. If you read it as a book in literary criticism rather than psychology, it’s interesting
