Publisher's summary

'Tis the season for hot chocolate and mouthwatering treats. But sometimes too much of a good thing can be downright deadly....

When local businessman Jed Greenberg is found dead with a Chocolate lab whimpering over his body, the police start sniffing around Robbie Jordan's country restaurant for answers. Was it something in Robbie's hot cocoa that killed Jed, or was it Cocoa the dog? As the suspects pile as high as her holiday tree, Robbie attempts to get to the bottom of the sickly sweet murder....

Fun book to listen to.

this was a pretty short book but really fun to listen to. I love it when I know the characters of the book.

Disappointing

The books in this series are generally entertaining, if somewhat far fetched. This one was by far the worst. If it was the first I had read I would definitely take a pass on any of the others. Since I have mostly enjoyed the series, I will persevere and hope the next is better.

First & last Maddie Day for me

This was a horrible listen. My husband and I listen to books while driving to see kids in FL, and this one was pathetic. There was WAY too much detail about special omelets, flipping burgers, what kind of buns those burgers may be on, what is meant by "run it through the garden." , ad nauseum.Tedious! Describing the outfits her partner wore every day was totally unnecessary. The narrator, trying to take a lower timbre when speaking a man's lines, spoke at such a low pitch and volume that we had to crank up the volume on our speakers. Being from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, I was offended by the hickish and totally unauthentic dialog- you would NEVER hear a librarian utter "ain't" And the sheriff asking for a "passel of food?" Good grief.
