Publisher's summary

Lily Stewart has reached a crossroads in her life. Her painting career hasn't taken off, her best friend has changed beyond recognition, and now she can't keep up with the rising cost of living in the city. With no one to turn to, Lily is forced to move from her apartment, but while packing she comes across a piece of mail that had slipped to the back of her junk drawer: a letter detailing further action needed to finalize the annulment of a quickie Vegas wedding. From 10 years ago!

Lily decides it's time to gather up the pieces of her life, and the first item on her list of things to fix is that annulment. This is something that must be addressed in person, so Lily decides to track down her husband - the charming, enigmatic man she connected with all those years ago.

Ben Hutchinson left a high-profile dot-com lifestyle behind to return home to the small lake town he loves, Minnow Bay. He's been living off the grid, and the last thing he expects is a wife he didn't know he had making her presence known.

By chance, Lily finds her way to Minnow Bay Inn. There she will discover not just a place to lay her head, but new friends, new inspiration, and maybe even a new chance to fall in love.

Cute Story

This was a really cute story and you can’t help to root for Lilly. Her meek personality was a little annoying at times but I think that was the point and allow you to see her character grow and stand up for herself. I wish we found out a little more about what happened with her art career and previous gallery owner but overall I liked the storyline and the narration.

Kelly Harms does it again.

Kelly as usual has written another fantastic story about normal normal people overcoming life's problems.

Not what I was hoping for

I really wanted to like this sweet sounding story. I really did, but I got stuck in that Lily(main character) has completely ceded control of every facet of her life to a bunch of horrible people who treat her in many truly awful manners. From her BFF marrying her boyfriend and treating her like garbage, to her art dealer/boyfriend lying, cheating, taking advantage of and stealing from her to finally trying to complete the annulment of a quickie crazy wedding 10 years ago and then getting bamboozled by town. yes, an entire town. The best part of the book is when she finally has her aha moment and takes charge of herself and her life, but it wasn't enough to make the rest okay for me. Maybe I am too cynical for this as if you suspend reality or don't mind simpering women this may be more enjoyable for you than for me. I was sadly disappointed.

Fun story

I save my audiobooks to listen to when I’m walking, I really enjoyed the story and the narrator was excellent!

Cute story. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie.

Cute story with good narration. This story takes place in Wisconsin which is rare. However, living in Wisconsin, it would have been nice if the author would actually know the geography of the state. The story takes place 3 hrs north of Chicago, 2 hours west of Green Bay so it would be in the central part of the state. According to the story, Duluth MN is only 2 hours away which is incorrect; it's actually about 5 hours from where Minnow Bay should be located. I know this is fiction but doing a bit of research is usually required when writing a story. With that said, this is a pretty predictable story. Cute and sweet with a pretty stupid main female character, Lilly. She seems to like being a door mat when it comes to her relationships but finally puts her foot down to change that.
If you like Hallmark movie, you'll probably like this story.

I enjoyed this book

I enjoyed this book. I chose it as a lighter read to break from a more serious read I'd just finished. The story held my attention, and I felt invested in the main character enough to want to see where her life led as the story progressed. All of the characters were interesting, and they were so varied that it was like real life.
I liked it more than I expected, based on the summary.

cute story

This was a cute story and narrator did a good job. I didn't like how her BFF treated her or how the new friends manipulated her so much, but it was overall an interesting new story.

Great story

Very interesting with interesting story lines and characters who are not just another dysfunctional person who can’t recognize love etc etc etc
Thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable

I enjoy Kelly Harms stories.

This was entertaining. Spoiler

Kind of sad her “best friend” thought she was so hard to love. I guess Lily was too
much of a mess for her best friend but her best friend didn’t realize what a miserable person she herself was? Aside from that whole mess, (which was a very small part near the end) I found the book entertaining. I bought it because it was Kelly Harms. I listen to “You Can Thank Me Later” often. I love that story. This one I will not listen to again, in fact I will avoid books read by Piper Goodeve. Half the time I didn’t understand the dialog because there was no difference between many of the characters’ voices. I also sometimes missed if someone was even speaking because there wasn’t always a difference between speaking and narration. The reader’s inflection reminded me of reporters and how they all speak the same annoying way, the drop in tone at the end of every sentence. Some narrators I seek out, some, I avoid . . . I’ll be avoiding this one.
