Publisher's summary

A steamy, second-chance romance between best friends, and the unconventional family they create along the way.

Theo Von Bremen. Aloof, elite, and baseball's next MVP, his name hangs on every woman's next breath. Except for mine.

All I want to know is if we're having tacos tonight - it's his turn to buy.

Friendships like ours are forged from drunken sleepovers and Roommates Gone Wild episodes - nothing could ever tear us apart. Except...my v-card. And maybe...my new job with six marines. But we can handle this, right?

Contains mature themes.

Went way off into what???

Couldn't finish. When the human trafficking line started just skipped to the end. A little too much sex on too many surfaces with way to many people watching. No boundaries, anyone??

First off I didn’t realize the pitcher was a prequel to this book, I thought it was a standalone. I wanted to like this book, I really did. But I just couldn’t listen to it anymore. The narrators were great, I had no issues with them. It was the the book itself. At first I really like Anniston, I thought she was so sassy and smart and strong. Then in the beginning of this book years after Theo takes her v-card he is screwing some chick, Anniston calls him and she helps him get off with the other girl. Then he goes to her and screws her after the other girl! I couldn’t take her being his doormat, he was selfish and didn’t deserve her. He would screw her in front of others to show that she was his but it was ok for him to mess around with other girls. And inviting 6 Marines with PTSD into your home where you live alone? That was a bit much. And her “therapy methods” were a little off the wall. Anyways I had 3 hours to go and I just couldn’t do it anymore. Maybe if the book had been shorter I could have finished.

A series not to be missed!!

I was so happy when I saw this series in audible. I read all the books so when I saw these I had to dance a lil jig. It has everything you could want in a book

Just the right bit of everything, emotion, fun, pride, caring. Written with love and caring.

The performers are amazing. The story...not so much. I kept hoping for Ainsley to dump the loser and go for the Marine. The way Theo treats Ainsley is really disappointing. Just not my type of story and I'm bummed as this is my second book by this author. I loved IOU, but will be hesitant to purchase another of KM's books.

Not Impressed

Anniston staying with Theo had me almost stopping. I had to push through the sex scenes by the middle because they were overtop and written too long. The performers did great, but the story is lack-luster.

good but not much of a story

I love the performance more than the story. This story was too long and not much of a story. Also, there was just too much sex and not enough romance or connection between the main characters. I chose this story because of Nelson Hobbs which he did an excellent job. If you like lots of sex, this story is for you!

The narrators were great but I couldn’t get through the story. Too long and I couldn’t get onboard with Anniston and Theo’s relationship. I was hooked when she found Cade and thought for sure the story was building to show sometimes you think you’re in love but you realize it’s a toxic relationship when the person who you actually should be with comes along, but it didn’t go that direction. I tried hang on hoping something else would hook me but I surrendered half way though when I got sick of listening to how great Cade was and what a punk Theo was and yet how in love Anniston was with Theo.

Not her best book

I’ve read other books by this author that I loved but this one did not do it for me. I did not like the main characters at all, their so called love story felt so toxic and was not my thing. Both main characters just felt so tacky and had zero regard of the feelings of the people around them. Sure they helped a few veterans and shit but the rest of their behavior was just awful and inconsiderate. The only reason I managed to finish the book was because I really liked the side characters and I’m eager to see their stories. It was a pain to get through it though. But the narrators did a good job so that’s something I guess :)
Btw Cade is not counted as a main character, he’s one of the lovable side characters even though the books shows his POV.
