Publisher's summary

A new ghoulish mystery from the New York Times best-selling author of A Ghostly Light, featuring Mel Turner, a ghost-whispering contractor.

Mel Turner can't resist the chance to bring the Crockett Theater, a decrepit San Francisco art nouveau movie palace, back to life. But there's a catch for Turner Construction: Several artists are currently squatting in the building, and they aren't the only ones haunting the once-grand halls of the historic theater....

When one of the squatters is found dead, the police department has a long list of suspects to investigate. Meanwhile, Mel and her fiance, Landon, are remodeling an old house for themselves, and Mel finds it more challenging than she expected to be on the other side of a home renovation project.

When Mel discovers that the original owner of the Crockett Theater died under mysterious circumstances, and that there just might be a connection to the ghost haunting her own attic, the case takes a new turn - one that could bring down the curtain for the last time.

Great Book!

I loved it! As always, I listened to it in 1 sitting because I couldn't put it down! And I loved the story 'mash up' inviting Lily and her crew as a cameo!

Delightful

Another delightful story from Juliet Blackwell. I love the details about the old theater and the history of filmmaking in the Bay Area.

Penelope 😊👏

I loved this book and am saddened that the series is all done. XE Sands is a great book reader for stories. I will look for more books with her reading, because she’s great at it.

My first favorite series continues to satisfy

It’s so hard to wait for “that next book,” but this one was worth the wait! The series continues to be true to each character’s personality. I love the renovation, romance and ghost details. It is so easy to vividly imagine the settings described. I adore the challenge of figuring out who the murderer is before Mel. This is a good one!
“The Last Curtain Call” scared me that the series was over but I am hopeful for at least one more for closure. I was surprisingly shocked (and pleased) when my favorite witch made an appearance! Thank you Juliet Blackwell for another entertaining addition to my audible library. I have this one in print too!

Terrific Story

This is a terrific story and great fun. There are lots of colorful characters and ghosts- The description of the grand old theater is vivid and real. My only disappointment is in the character of Landon, her fiancé. He was replaced by her previous love , the environmentally conscious builder. You could feel the sparks between them and I’ve never understood why Blackwell wrote him out. Landon seems blah, almost wimpy. I even get a sense the author struggles writing him—no
feeling of passion for this character. But it’s still a great story.

Love this series

The Last Curtain Call is highly entertaining. Mel, Landon and the rest of the characters are engaging and full of life. The mystery is well plotted and kept me guessing until the end. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next book.

Couldn't put it down

Very enjoyable from story to characters to narrator/voice dramatization. There was plenty of complexity and movement in the plot but it was well executed and never confusing to me. Needed to do some other things but boy I had to finish this book first!
