Publisher's summary

Montana Coggeshall is feeling the squeeze - and not just because of his new leather pants from the goddess Eona. His little safeholding in the ruthless world of Vuldranni is under siege. On both sides.

At the front is Lord Caticorix, a grade-A Imperial flunkey if there ever was one. He's clearly ridiculous, but the army he brought with him might not be. Plus they're bent on blocking Coggeshall from getting any food or supplies from the outside world.

And at the back are the ursus, the larger-than-life bear people who've traditionally called this valley home. They're none too pleased with Montana for taking in a few ursus refugees, and would like the 400-lb Goldilocks and her followers out of their house now, thankyouverymuch.

Battles are brewing, and the entire town is being held hostage. And despite all his strength and ability, Montana needs to do some serious training to get Coggeshall out of this. There are actual stakes this time - children could starve, his friends have gone missing - and Montana's not sure he has what it takes to save everyone.

This video game world is starting to feel way too much like reality.

I really like the book

It is RPGlit, but loosely. No real hardcore levelups. I like the story, I like the voice actor. My only real complaint is that Montana cusses too much for my kids to listen to it.

Awesome series

Took a chance on this series and so glad I did! Usually by book 5 or 6 a lot of longer series begin to get repetitive and stale but not this one! It continues to be engaging with great plot and character development! Can’t wait for the next one

excellent story series ,harsh language

personally I love the litRPG series, but the excessive swearing makes not family friendly. I think the author did a better job on language in the bad guy series.

Another one.

I absolutely love this series. If you’ve already made it this far into the series you know what to expect and Mr. Ugland never disappoints.

Clever, fun, interesting...great listening escape

Very nicely done! I'm a very happy reader of this series. The development is excellent, nearly everything is intriguing, and I try to tune out the gore, which luckily is not too too much. There is humor, even making me laugh out loud, and the reader also gives us anxiety and anticipation. I just loved how the author handled a certain rescue, especially the food and supplies, loved the new little character, loved the focus on training and very happy overall with details provided. Clever and fun escape for a reader! Wonderfully narrated by Neil Hellegers.
