Every time I learn that a new book in this series is released I literally stop what I am listening to and begin it immediately. This series is definitely among my most favorite books. The characters are ones you grow attached to and without giving away much the author, for the most part, doesn't jerk you around by making you fall in love with a character only to kill or otherwise "disappear" them. I am so grateful that the author keeps this series going and continue to look forward to the next book!! If you are looking for a well written series that you can invest in this is the one!

the style of the orator of this book sucked . very distracting. he would read a line of quoted text followed by a very soft acknowledgement of the speaker.
In an action voice:
"Bring us about 90 degrees down 9 degrees relative to plane!"
in a very soft voice:

Imagine that style in a 4-6 person dialog as often happens, annoying and distracting

My only complaint might be the episode length of each installment. But if someone makes this into a TV Series BSG move over. Some plot twists seem predictable after the fact. So this impression is a mistake.

Wow again last book was amazing and this was even better. The last 4h were eoic and the fight we all been waiting for. New weapons and new allies. I really can’t wait for what comes next.
I believe this is the best book in the series and Ryks writing is just amazing. Please never stop writing this series!

This is an epic sci-fi saga with dozens of books and some are better than others but they are all worthwhile reads for those who enjoy military sci-fi.

Love this series from the beginning, Ryk Brown is one of my favorite authors he created such rich characters and Jeffrey Kafer brings them to life. I’ve got the next book on preorder an counting the days!

I have followed Brown from his first book. It is fun to watch a new author grow and develop with each book. Brown is turning into a talented storyteller.

The book is well written. The first half of the book is preparing for war and gaining alleys and new equipment. The last half of the book is the war for two key planets in the Alliance. The action takes place on land and in space. Brown was always a good battle screen writer, but he has greatly improved since book one. He can now balance multiple actions and different types of battles. It is great to see how the characters have developed. I have a feeling the series is nearing the end; maybe one or two more books. I can see how a new series could be created about the rebuilding of the worlds in the Alliance. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

The book is eleven hours and thirteen minutes. Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job narrating the book. Kafer has been the narrator for the entire series.
