those silly gods and their songs

The story begins with PTA (post traumatic adventure) syndrome - aka "there are consequences". The first third of the book is a duology of (1) a dating and school transfer mega drama; and (2) a cute retelling of a bunch of Greek myths. Then chapter 11 begins the actual storyline: the Dad from Hades tale and “Family trips are—hades” tale. In this latter half, red-headed (!) Charlotte Mielswetzski (aka “Penny-not-Percy Jackson”) commences the rescue scenario. Take that, you demigods!


Urdu’s work overviews a wide variety of Ancient Greek Myths in all their silly glory, making a great backdrop for the ultimate in contemporary drama: the hunt for a flirtatious middle school kiss.
