Exciting Story

Your story was great. I love how you made the mouse on the Motorcycle seem like he traveled everywhere but then let the people pick him up.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I read this book with my 10 year old grandson and we enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend it to a parent/grandparent/child team.

What other book might you compare Runaway Ralph to and why?

It is a gentle story similar in feel to 'Stuart Little' or 'Charlotte's Web'. The character learns much about life and lessons are 'taught' without being moralistic. The character's naivete and the author's touch of humour is very endearing.

Have you listened to any of B. D. Wong’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

B.D Wong also narrates the other book in the 'Ralph' series. His voice animates the mouse perfectly.

What made the experience of listening to Runaway Ralph the most enjoyable?

My kids were quiet and didn't make me crazy during a long road trip. They were very interested.

B.D. Wong put great energy into reading this story and made the characters come to life.

I was super fond of the Ralph series and this audio version made a great display of it, the performance and narration was great!

Remember this as a child and now my kids and I finished reading it and it brought back a lot of memories.

Any additional comments?

The only problem that I had with this purchased download was that the recording was not segmented into chapters. Instead, it was just one long audio file. I could not backtrack / rewind to the previous chapter. I saved it onto iTunes, transferred it to an iPod, and then played it in the car (2011 Toyota Corolla). When I hit the backtrack / rewind button, the recording skipped back to the very beginning, no matter where it was in the story. So, if we did not hear a part of it, or we had to pause for a moment, we had no option to rewind it to the beginning of the current chapter. The only option was to start completely over at the beginning.

"Ralph is good for a mouse"

My six year old would give this book 5.5 stars if he could. He was glad there were three people who liked Ralph.
