a superb story with intriguing characters. Beware, that this book may spark an interest in all thing Dragonlance. this, the first book in chronological order. Soulforge sets the stage for all that is to come, and it is magnificent.

The Life of a Great Mage

This book is well worth the time and energy. It is extremely easy to get lost in the life story of Raistlin and loose all track of time.
You either love Raistlin and the Dragonlance saga...or you are wrong👍.

amazing book!

One of my all time favorite books! Read very well! The reader used different voices for the different characters and it made it extremely easy to follow along. Worth every penny!

A surprising find!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Soulforge to be better than the print version?

I wouldn't know, I only listened to the book. But the audio narration was expertly done. The voice of the narrator is a perfect fit.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Soulforge?

When the main character is given a test by his master. I loved the development of this character throughout the book. Even though it is a fantasy, the progress of the main character in learning magic is slow - almost like a realistic look. He has had to work hard for his knowledge, he doesn't just wake up one day and have power like so many other books.

Have you listened to any of Chris Sorensen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Fantastic adventure!

Tells the story of one of the best characters in the Dragonlance world. The narrator Chris Sorensen is FANTASTIC! I listened on my drive to college daily(35 mins one way) and never stopped listening.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is one of my favorite Dragonlance books. It did a great job of covering the early life of one of the most interesting characters of the series. It also felt like a real novel whereas the original trilogies you could sometimes tell were there in part to create interest in the D&D game. Overall it was pretty well paced with all it had to cover and stayed pretty close to what was expected from all the previous novels and short stories about Raistlin. My only complaint would be that it was implied that the twins along with Sturm spent many more years traveling with Flint and Tanis. In this book they pretty much spent 1 year together and only went on 1 trip with all of them. But it was still a very enjoyable book.

great narration!!

Loved the Narration!! He brought the story to life. The story itself was entertaining. It added some back story to the wonderful group of comrads Hickman and Weiss write about.

A legendary book.

The Soulforge is an amazing book, one of my favorites of all time. The characters are real and you actually get close to them. The story is epic. This is my first audio book ever. It took some getting used to. I often fall asleep at night listening to it and have to go back to previous chapters multiple times over. The narration is decent. The voices can be a little weak and childish sounding, and Kitiara's voice is the worst one that he does. Overall still worthwhile.
