Publisher's Summary

Gavin Guile is dying.

He'd thought he had five years left - now he has less than one. With 50,0000 refugees, a bastard son, and an ex-fiancée who may have learned his darkest secret, Gavin has problems on every side. All magic in the world is running wild and threatens to destroy the Seven Satrapies. Worst of all, the old gods are being reborn, and their army of color wights is unstoppable. The only salvation may be the brother whose freedom and life Gavin stole 16 years ago.

    "Much Better"

Book 2 of the black prism series is great. it continues with the story nicely allowing you to see how each character develops as it moves. it makes you want to know what will happen next.

Now as for the reader, Simon Vance is a VAST improvement than the reader for book 1, Cristofer Jean. Simon made listening to the book a great pleasure. he made the characters identifiable, unlike Jean whom made Kip sound like a whinny brat and Gavin sound like Keanu Reeves.

I do like like this book and can't wait for the next. I hope that Simon Vance will stay as the reader for book 3

"great book but missing content in chapter 90 and 9"
What did you love best about The Blinding Knife?

The development of complex characters and so much better then the first book. Reminds be a lot of the night angel series.

Would you recommend The Blinding Knife to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes if they have read the first book, but it ki nda bothers me that two action scenes are cut short.

    Any additional comments?

Fix the recording to add in the missing content in chapter 90 and 92

"Great Book but Missing content in Ch 90 & 92"
    Any additional comments?

Great 2nd Book in this series. The narrator of this book was considerably better then the narrator of the first book in this series, I am glad they changed narrators. Unfortunately this recording is missing a large section of chapter 90 and 92 which hopefully will be fixed very soon. I had to go to the bookstore and read chapters 90 and 92 to fill in the huge hole in the story that was created by the lack of information in this recording. Can't wait For the third book to come out.

"Great followup to the first, plenty of suprises"

There is, sadly, one crucial skip in the audio that leaves you wondering how a crucial fight ended, but I hope Audible fixes that soon. Great ongoing development of interesting characters. Plot constantly moves forward with a great mix of surprises. Brent Weeks is really stepping up!

    "Better"

I liked the Black Prism but the narrator was absolutely atrocious. The characters all sounded like, A the same person, B a total monotone, or C, whiny little idiots. There was nearly no differentiation between male and female characters and it was almost impossible to listen, to the point where I couldn't finish and went and bought the hard copy because I liked the story. The Blinding Knife, is as good, I think, as the Black Prism, and the narrator is astronomically better. Really a joy to listen to. I would definitely recommend this.

    "Great followup"

It was much more than I thought it would be and a great 2nd chapter in the story. It flowed well and it kept you interested not only in the story but also in the characters that the author created. I couldn't stop listening and had great fun going through the book. Be warned there are some parts of the book that for some reason haven't been included the most glaring in chapter 90. Overall great book.

    "Amazing!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, absolutely! Weeks is far and away my favorite author!

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Kyp....Americans love an under dog.

Have you listened to any of Simon Vance’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Not certain. He's good though.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they've all lost faith, and the world is changing.

    Any additional comments?

Weeks is a master. The Night Angel trilogy is my favorite series, to have another from the same guy that is nearly as good is amazing!
