Publisher's summary

The Blood books center around three main characters: Vicki Nelson, a homicide cop turned private detective, her former partner Mike Celluci, who is still on the force, and vampire Henry Fitzroy, who is the illegitimate son of Henry VIII and makes his living as a writer of bodice rippers. Not only are the three of them caught in a love triangle, but they are, time and again, involved in mysteries with a supernatural slant - from demons, to werewolves, to mummies - and inevitably must join forces to solve crimes and defeat supernatural enemies. Now all of Tanya Huff's short stories about Henry, Vicki, and Mike are being released in this collection entitled Blood Bank.

Not what I expected

A truly more insightful look into each of the characters, really making them much more three dimensional. I’ll listen again...and again!

Not my favorite in the series

What did you like best about Blood Bank? What did you like least?

As a fan of the series and its characters, I found myself wanting more then whats seemed a disjointed collection of vignettes.

Was Blood Bank worth the listening time?

still worth a listen but I hope for more expanded story lines in the future.

Stories about the main characters Henry, Vicki, Mike and Tony

Past, present and future short stories lovingly presented. The writing is tender, thoughtful and humorous. I'm going to miss this series.

The Narration....AGHHHHHHHHHH...

If you could sum up Blood Bank in three words, what would they be?

This book combined two of my favorite things...Vicky Nelson and short stories. But the narrator is just TERRIBLE! Especially her depiction of Mike Celluci, please, could she sound any more ridiculous. It really ruins the whole series for me. I was initially introduced to this series as a short story in another book and the narrator was different, she was VERY good. That is what turned me on to this author. I am managing to squeek through these books because I do like the characters and the stories but I don't know how much more I can take.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Bank?

I like the vulnerabillity of Henry in one of the stories.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Almost 100%!
