You Slay Me is a lusty romance novel with amusing supernatural undercurrents. When courier Aisling Grey is dispatched to Paris to deliver a priceless dragon statue to a rich and eccentric female collector, she finds the intended recipient the apparent victim of a demonic ritual. And that's just the beginning of Aisling's discoveries.Spend some more time with Aisling Grey.©2004 Martha Arends (P)2005 Recorded Books, LLC Contemporary Fantasy Horror Paranormal Romantic Comedy Romantic Suspense Demons Witches & Wizards

If you could sum up You Slay Me in three words, what would they be?

Constant swallowing and smacking.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The story has from funny parts especially the commentary from Jim the Newfoundland. Great zingers that had me sometimes wondering if my dogs are saying the same thing to me. This series has a lot of potential like the Dark Ones series. It took me 3 months to use a credit to listen to the book, because I was not impressed with the preview snippet. I was bored so I took a gamble with my credit. What I did not like about the book is the background noise. I could actually hear the narrator turning the pages as she was reading!!! The narrator has a smokey voice that sounds like she is smoking three packs a day and the character is in her 30s not her 60s. The worst part is the constant swallowing and smacking. I had to adjust the audio on my phone and radio to get through the book. I will continue to listen to the series, because the story line is interesting and Aisling's sidekicks are funny, but I do hope that the next books have better audios. The smoker's cough voice of Barbara is not too bad. I am getting use to her voice, but the smacking, paper shuffling, and swallowing needs to be addressed pronto.

How could the performance have been better?

The whole audio needs to be redone to eliminate all the swallowing, pages turning and smacking done by the narrator.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I cannot see this book being made into a film. There were too many problems with the audio on this one to imagine the story line.

From the beginning of this book both the Author and the Narrator HAD me. This Fantasy-cum-Romance with a dash of Mystery and written with tongue-in-cheek Humor will compel you to read all of Katie MacAlister's books. Having devoured the Aisling Grey/Green Dragon series, through the even more fascinating Silver Dragon Series, I could not wait for her most recent addition: Love in the Time of Dragons (and I STILL don't know who the real villain is). Keep them coming Katie and Barbara, I am a true devotee.

Multi-Genre Series well written and performed

Fun story. the lip-smacking noises got to be very noticeable by the end though. Going on and on about snipping the demon's balls got old too. I think the character could have been more comical and less annoying

fun to listen to

I enjoyed it very much. A good twist on dragon stories. A whole lot of fun. Going to try other books.
