Streep lends her amazingly talented voice to the story of a stuffed bunny who is a boy's favorite toy but yearns to be real. The characters come to life through the artistry of her performance, enhanced by celebrated musician George Winston's original piano score.
Let Rabbit Ears take you on the magical journey from toy chest to reality in this extraordinary version of The Velveteen Rabbit.

"Streep's narration, delivered in a crisp British accent, is also remarkable, shifting from the Velveteen Rabbit and the boy's guileless characters to the cheeky wild rabbits to the gruff Nana without ever sounding overly theatrical. With just Streep's voice and Winston's piano, the duo creates a beautifully realized version of this story of love's transformative power." (All Music Guide)
"Every child should listen to this!"
I had this on tape as a child and managed to track it down on audible years later, and it truly is magical. Not only is it beautifully read by Meryl Streep, but the addition of George Winston's breathtaking music makes this one of my favorite audio books! This is a fantastic listen for children and adults alike.
"Velveteen Rabbit"
Cute short story that will make you want to cry and laugh at the same time. Love the spiritual tone of this story. Well read with the addition of music to aid in the experience. Loved it!
