Espionage or “Who done it”

Splendid narration, pace well with varied characterization.

Not Bond nor Smiley, but a good thriller.

Best Performance of an Excellent Mystery!

I was very impressed with this mystery story and the performance with which it was read. Very pleasing listening and hard to turn off.

oh. Agatha!

This story, the history, the detail, all mesh into a captivating combination. I have seen film versions of her novels and have been transported to another time and place. Sounds trite, I know, but it is true. This setting and the historical events portrayed are particularly interesting due to the correlation of the world climate then and now. Agatha Christie is still the QUEEN.

Fun, international adventure

This story was a lot of fun. Enjoyed the exotic settings, quirky main character, and plot twists.

Wonderful book

I really enjoyed this book. I don’t remember reading it as a teenager, when I went through my
Agatha Christie phase! I found the narration excellent. What I love most about revisiting these books as an adult is that I am now discovering the sublet and dry wit that Agatha Christie injects into her stories. My favorite are the books narrated y Hugh Fraser. He’s the best. Emilia and David Suchet do pretty good jobs too. I recommend this title. Good plot, excellent narration, overall enjoyable.

Another brilliant narration by Emilia Fox - loved this story so much !

I loved this story and the narration- it’s funny and interesting. Since it’s not one of the more famous Agatha Christie novels - I had no idea “who done it” til the very end. Emilia Fox was really great - voices and characters are done so well. Really entertaining and fun listen

Agatha is always a blessing

I came to love Christie's stories from early age and her books still sweep me away. First time listening to They Came to Baghdad, I could not stop... Narrator offers an excellent performance.. Classic, witty and still holds up!

WORST Narration

Please please please, just have Huge Fraiser do the readings of ALL the Christie books! There are about 10 that I can't get because the narrator is just SO bad that you just can't even understand the plot. This is one of those. What a shame. I really wanted to listen to this book and I am sure the content it top Christie content however I will never get the chance to find out other than reading the actual book. From what little I got, this is more of a spy thriller than a mystery. Sort of like Secret at Chimney's. Had I listened to this in a timely manner I would have just sent this one back.

Loved this book! The suspense lasted till the end!

It was so different from most of her other books. Ms. Fox had all the various characters voices down perfectly! It is now my favourite book!
