Worthwhile and Succinct

What did you love best about The Truth About Leadership?

This book was very informative and helpful to me as the owner of a small business. I have not read the authors' other, primary, work "The Leadership Challenge," but suspect that much of what is contained in "The Truth About Leadership" is a summary of what is contained in the other. I am now interested in reading The Leadership Challenge and in learning more, which is a strong recommendation for the book. However, if you're already familiar with the main work it is possible that the material would be redundant.

Good Information; Presentation—Not So Much

I've read a lot of stuff on leadership and management, and Kouzes and Posner's book is worth listening to—well organized, thoroughly researched and documented, with a lot of clearly defined main points and principles. The only thing I really don't care for is the narrator's voice. It's pleasant, but it's too uniform and detached from the material. It sounds like he's just reading the book, albeit well and clearly, but without any involvement in the content. And with a book like this, passion and involvement are real pluses.Contrast this presentation with anything by Stephen Covey (7 Habits), who writes and narrates his own books, and you'll hear what I mean.

Some really valuable things taught. Not an amazing book by any means, nor life changing. But it was solid

It's okay to be white

Short and insightful, well narrated and pitched at the right level. Useful anecdotes are used to illustrate and enforce key points.
