The #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Party Crasher and Love Your Life returns with her trademark blend of sparkling wit and playful romance in this page-turning story of a wedding to remember—and a honeymoon to forget.

“Sophie Kinsella keeps her finger on the cultural pulse, while leaving me giddy with laughter.”—Jojo Moyes, author of The Giver of Stars and The Last Letter from Your Lover

Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose, but then his big question involves a trip abroad—not a trip down the aisle. Completely crushed, Lottie reconnects with an old flame, and they decide to take drastic action. No dates, no moving in together, they’ll just get married . . . right now. Her sister, Fliss, thinks Lottie is making a terrible mistake, and will do anything to stop her. But Lottie is determined to say “I do,” for better, or for worse.

Any additional comments?

If you have never read a Sophie Kinsella book, don't start here. This is a pretty standard offering from SK, but not close to her best work. It has the usual amusing preposterous plotting but lacks the charm of her previous work and is much more R Rated than usual (language and sexy stuff). I suppose the premise of one sister trying to consummate her marriage and have a romantic wedding night, while the other sister tries to stop that from happening should have clued me in to that. There were a couple of laugh out loud moments but not enough to make this a recommendable read. The narration was excellent though. No complaints there.

Light entertainment but not Kinsella's best.

A typical Sophie Kinella book, told this time from different character perspectives. An enjoyable listen.

Where does Wedding Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I feel like that’s too broad for my listening tastes, so out of all the romantic comedies I have listened to, it ranks in the top three for sure.

What other book might you compare Wedding Night to and why?

“The Wedding Date” by Jasmine Guillory had the same snap to it’s humor and comedic situations. In fact, it was because I had just read and loved that book that I chose to get “Wedding Night.” I realized that romantic comedies were not just good in movie form at that point. I’d also say that “My Not So Perfect Life” by Sophie Kinsella would also be a good comparison, obviously, because the humor is the same and the situational humor is hilarious without being too outlandish.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved all of the narrator choices for this book! I don’t think I would’ve connected with most of the characters if it weren’t for the narrators. It truly felt like I was right there along side them. There were points where I almost forgot I was not watching a movie, but was listening to an audiobook they were so engaging.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really. It’s a light-hearted romantic comedy that I thoroughly enjoyed, but I read too many diverse genres and sub genres to really be “moved greatly” by a romcom, if that makes sense? This is one of my favorite reads of the year, so that’s to be dismissive of the book. It’s just that I also read a lot of nonfiction that is particularly moving because it actually happened so I’m not a good one to ask about this re: this particular book.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely loved this book. I’m so glad I just went with my urge to get a romantic comedy and landed on this one. I listened to it all in almost one sitting because of a fibromyalgia pain flare up that’s lasted way too long. This made the laying down in bed not so torturous. It made it bearable and actually kind of sort of fun. I had moments, like I stated above, where I near forgot I was not watching a movie or a Netflix TV series but was listening to an audiobook. I usually fall asleep while listening to an audiobook if it gets to be a certain time, but I actually had to turn this one off in order to sleep because I was so into it. If you are looking for a light hearted, guaranteed happy ending book that is fun, silly and interesting, then look no further!

Fun, funny and a wonderful escape!

I have really enjoyed her other books but found this one so far-fetched that it lost me in liking the characters or caring what happened at all

Not like other Kinsella books
