Jordan Rhodes is invited to all of Chicago's best parties, but there's only one the FBI wants to crash. To get her brother out of jail, she agrees to take Agent McCall as her date. But when the mission gets botched, requiring their "relationship" to continue, it starts to feel less like an investigation-and a lot like something else.

If you could sum up A Lot Like Love in three words, what would they be?
Good character development. What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator is great for female voices, but she's quite bad at male voices. She makes them all sound like a pompous John Wayne, and initially I had to focus on enjoyment of the story to get through it. And remember that I had purchased the series, so it's likely that I'll be just as annoyed w/ the remaining two books.Very enjoyable story.

Great series.

The series opener showed a true strong female lead. If you’re going to play the jealous girl at the least be able to say what you want/feel. The only time Jordan was finally honest about any feelings towards him was during sex *insert exasperated eye roll* Then of course this is all while Nick is supposed to be telling her important information about her brother? I was very much disappointed.
Chapter 22 beyond was listened to at 3.5x and it was needed because it turned cliche imo. Two grown adults acting like the other can read their mind. Third act breakups are not my thing. And it’s even more annoying that they stopped keeping in contact —no one thought “an active criminal investigation is going down we can handle this immature nonsense when it’s wrapped up.”
Sigh. 3.8/5
