Jade loves her new apartment - until a ghost joins her in the shower.
When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn't count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord.
Being an empath has never been easy on Jade's relationships. It's no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it's up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her. Except she'll need Kane's help - and he's betrayed her with a secret of his own - to do it. Can she find a way to trust him and herself before Pyper is lost?

"Pleasantly Surprised"
I purchased all three books in this series because they were on sale and I needed a few books to listen to while waiting for a couple of books to be released from series I've already been listening to. I really wasn't sure if it would be that good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm looking forward to listening to the next two books...

"Slow start, weak story, character potential"
I like New Orleans as a setting, although little was mentioned about it as atmosphere. The characters seemed likable. The story was weak and had wholes. There were thoughts or directions started but not followed through. The later part of the story had some action and drama.
She could have elaborated in the beginning about the characters past or personality and why they are who they are. She could have had one character have some self deprecating humor. Bee, Cat, Eaan all could have been developed more.
Maybe. I think the more she writes she will get better. The basics are there.
To seek out some stories based in New Orleans and ghost stories.
I did like the ability angle. Cain was a good believable character.

"Great new author and book from the Crescent City"
Yes. The book is a fresh change from recent publications. It touches on the metaphysical and the current.
The heroin. Her character development was real.
A wonderful dramatization.
Witches, Angels, and Demons in the Crescent City. A modern day battle between good and evil. A resurrection of the eternal battle between God and Satan.
"Pleasantly surprised"
The book captured your interest from the beginning.
I never have enough time for an all-in-one-sitting read/listen, but it could capture your interest for that period of time.
Engaging and interesting paranormal story. Great character development and just a fun read. One of the tests of this type of story is when an author can have romantic interests that are hot without having to get too graphic with sex scenes. That takes much more talent and story telling capabilities. After all, we are adults and know what goes on behind closed doors.
By the way, purchased this as an e-book for my Kindle and then the Audible version for Whispersync. This feature is fantastic. I can listen to the audible version when commuting in my car or working around my house, but can switch back and forth to enjoy on my Kindle anytime, anywhere, and enjoy a nice quiet read.
"Pass on this one"
Slow to start. I could not connect with the characters and it was not worth the time I put in to listen.
Jade, the main character, veered between being likeable and sympathetic to occasionally irritating for me,I found myself rolling my eyes at her.
I found that I had to re-read/listen to the same part because I would put it down and forget what happened. If this is given away for a penny, wait until it is free.
"good listen"
I totally enjoyed this book. Good characters good reader and decent plot. Will look for more from this author
"Haunted on Bourbon Street - Not bad, not great"
I had a hard time getting through this and nearly gave up, but that's hard for me to do. There was just too much straining of my credulity and impatience with sex scenes to get over with so the story could go on. I finally finished reading the book on my kindle so I could get through the story faster and skip pages. If you like ghost stories, don't have a skeptical mind and get turned on by sexy scenes, you'll enjoy this book more than I did.
"A liitle disappointed"
The premise is good but it was a little slow. The story is middle of the road in tempo. I never felt for any of the characters.
"Wow I thought this would be much more interesting"
More suspense and excitement - a better tie to Bourbon Street
Something fun and ligh
That was okay
I just would have made the characters more interesting
