“Feist constantly amazes.”
—SF Site

“Feist has a command of language and a natural talent for keeping the reader turning pages.”
Chicago Sun-Times

The Chaoswar—the fifth and final Riftwar—is in full, explosive swing in Raymond E. Feist’s A Crown Imperiled, the second book in the acclaimed, New York Times bestselling fantasist’s monumental saga of courage, conflict, and bitter consequence. Once again, Midkemia, the author’s brilliantly conceived fantasy milieu, is in gravest danger from outside invaders—and from treacherous forces within—as the death of a powerful leader throws the world into chaos and threatens all hope of enduring peace. Returning in A Crown Imperiled are some of Feist’s most memorable characters—including the great sorcerer, Pug, who has been a fan favorite since his introduction in the author’s beloved classic, Magician—and the action, as always, comes fast and furious. The Chaoswar Saga is the master fantasist working at the peak of his powers, and further proof why Raymond E. Feist, like Terry Goodkind, George R. R. Martin, and Terry Brooks, is one of the true giants of epic fantasy fiction.

Another good book by Raymond Feist. Had some plot inconsistencies that I didn't expect from Feist. First character X is doing something, then in the next chapter it talks about character Y doing it instead. Still a good continuance of the epic story started many many books ago.

Good. but had some plot inconsistencies

the author once again leaves you searching for the next book. what an epic and unthought of ending. a little predictable with the return of a couple of characters but the reintroduction was really unique in it's delivery but repetitive in it's overall idea. I have to say the guy reading is getting better at his voices and character identification but overall emotion is lacking for me. I hope that the next book being the conclusion does not fall off like a couple if the previous sagas and the one reading throws his all into the telling!

redemption in ending

As a writer and a reader, I must say that it is quite offensive to have a narrator, just make up pronunciations for simple words and purposely pronounce them incorrectly. I must assume that’s what this narrator is doing, presumably to put his own stamp on the work. A narrator has no business, putting his own stamp on any work and should stick to the script. This appears to be a common problem as I have found the same difficulty in a number of books in the past year. In this case, the author actually established how these words are supposed to be pronounced, at least the ones that he created. Their pronunciation is well known, and the narrator ruins the story by mispronouncing them.

Ridiculous Narrator

Masterful writer and an epic tale, shame the narrator is so bad, but don't let that deter you from listening to this excellent book.

Elegant way connecting the beginning with end

Names kept being pronounced not only different from all the other books, but the narrator pronounced them differently during the narration within the same books.

Great story, but reader was inconsistent.

Coming to the end of reality as it is known by the realms known to man. Where to now?

One last stand!

This story was great. I loved it all. I need to read the next one.

love the story but hate this reader so much I almost gave up. he blast through and rarely pauses between sentences. you start getting confused when a group of people are talk as to who said what. or when the story jumps from people over here. to people over there. just a terrible reader.

I hate this reader.

Best listened to with speed set to 0.85. Pronunciation started to improve by the last 2 chapters of the book. More variation of different voices are much improved his voice also Carrie’s more appropriate emotional tone and much less monotone, which is greatly appreciated.

Overall, this book is much more tolerable to listen to.

Great story and narrator improving

not feist at his best, but a great story nonetheless.
however the performance by John Meagher leaves much to be desired. how did this get past QA?

abysmal narration.
